Chapter Seventy Eight - Return

Grant's POV

"What?" She said, her body freezing beneath me as she looked up at me, a stunned expression on her face.

"I said, Marry me." I smiled down at her beneath me.

"But..." She started, but couldn't find the words to continue.

"I know we don't have to as the mate bond is stronger, but you lived as a human for most of your life," I told her. "I want to give you your perfect wedding. I want to be connected to you in every way possible. When I lost our connection, it nearly broke me, it scared me. I want to be able to say to everyone that we are joined completely." She lifted a hand to my face and ran it along the smooth skin of my jaw. There was a tear in her eye as I kept eye contact with her. I put my hand under her pillow and felt the box I had left there earlier. I knew we could shift back fully dressed, but I didn't want to tempt losing the box.
