Where is Katelyn? I have tried repeatedly to get someone to try and search for my best friend, but everyone seems to just ignore me. Well, not everyone is ignoring me. Katelyn’s father, Beta Malcolm, has sent search groups out, but they keep coming up empty.
How could she just disappear like that? I know she has to be miserable and in pain right now. I could see it in her face as Alpha Marcus announced that his son, Mike, had finally found his mate.
I wanted to stand up and scream that the girl wasn’t Mike’s mate, but I can’t. It isn’t acceptable for someone like me to stand up against Alpha Marcus. Now Katelyn could do it, but I know she won’t. She has kept the identity of her mate a secret from everyone except me for the last two years. She only had a couple more months before Mike turns 18 and he would then be able to find his mate on his own. However, that all has come crashing down in an instance.
If only she had told her dad, Beta Malcolm would have been able to say something, and he probably would have been able to stop this whole mess. Not only did Katelyn get deprived of her true mate, but also the girl’s true mate, whoever it is, is deprived, too.
So many lives have been altered, and for what? An Alliance? Well, I hope that the moon goddess teaches those idiots a lesson.
My only glimmer of hope is that I can still feel Katelyn through the mind link. She has blocked the pack from linking to her, but she is still alive. I know Beta Malcolm and his wife can sense it too, but it doesn’t help us in trying to locate her. I don’t know what I’ll do if that connection with her ends. No. I’m not going to think about it. That won’t happen.
It has been weeks since she has left. I haven’t been able to leave the pack and go back to the university yet either. It would be of no use, anyway. I can’t concentrate on anything but finding her.
Ugh. Do you think if I ask Beta Malcom to let me go find her, he will let me?
I glance around the living room of the pack house. I wonder if anyone would go with me if I went.
However, my blood instantly boils when my eyes land on Mike and the whore. Oh, excuse me. Her name is Bambi. Even her name sounds like a stripper's name.
I can’t stand to look at them for very long since Bambi has her arm draped around Mike’s shoulder as she sits on the armrest of the couch while Mike sits on the couch with a game controller in his hand. I can’t help but to mentally laugh at how the slut is trying to rub her hip up against Mike’s arm while he completely ignores her while he focuses in on the video game.
Even though I find it hilarious, I have to fight the urge to hurl though, because Bambi keeps her hair pulled back, proudly displaying her mark. That mark should be on Katelyn’s neck instead of her neck. My friend only wants to be happy with her mate, but she isn’t allowed.
I hope when I find my mate that I don’t have to deal with the same situation as my friend. Well, I know one thing for sure. I will rip my mate’s balls off and shove them down his throat if he does something like what Mike has done.
Oh, let’s not think about that right now. We have to first find Katelyn and then I’ll worry about my mate.
Ugh. What am I going to do?
I turn my attention away from Mike and Bambi as I think of my options. However, no matter how many times I think about it, there is only one option. I have to go looking for her.
I have told no one, but I have this ability to sense where some people are. At a young age, I could always tell where Katelyn was long before I actually could find her. I don’t know how to explain it, but there seems to be a bond there. I have that same connection with my family and a few other people.
That is why I know my friend is still alive. I can sense her, and I know she is somewhere northeast of our pack.
I sigh as I make up my mind. I really have only one option. I have to ask Beta Malcom for permission to go try to find Katelyn by myself.
I turn towards the hallway, and I walk out of the room while I try my hardest to ignore Mike and the bitch.

Beta Malcolm stops the car at the local bus station and turns off the engine. “Now, I want you to check in every day, no matter what. I don’t want to have two missing omegas from our pack. I wish you would agree to having someone go along with you. You have no idea how dangerous it is out here, especially for an omega.”
I still can’t believe that Beta Malcolm is letting me do this. However, I have a feeling that he didn’t ask Alpha Marcus about this. Well, the alpha doesn’t seem too concerned about a little old omega, even if it is his Beta’s daughter.
I guess Mike doesn’t fall too far from the tree.
It still shouldn’t surprise me that Alpha Marcus is the one who came up with the stupid plan to get Mike mated to someone other than his true mate. I know his wolf can tell. I just can’t figure out why Mike can’t figure it out. Plus, did Alpha Marcus forget it will be hard for Bambi to produce an heir since Mike isn’t her true mate? It is a given that at some point Mike is going to have to have an heir to continue on the lineage and to lead the pack in future years. How is he going to do that without getting Bambi pregnant?
Shoot. Why am I even worrying about something like this? I need to focus on Katelyn.
I glance over at Beta Malcolm and nod. “I know. I will call every night and let you know what I’ve been able to find that day. I won’t forget. I promise.”
Beta Malcolm turns in his seat towards me. “And don’t forget to call your parents too.”
A smile dances across my face as I nod again. “I won’t forget. Don’t worry.”
He leans back in the driver’s seat and reaches inside his suit jacket. He pulls out a wand of cash and hands it to me. “Here is some money. Don’t lose it. I won’t be able to get any more money to you without people knowing.”
I look down at the bundle of cash. I don’t have to ask what he is referring to.
Without admitting to it, he just confirmed my assumptions. He never asked Alpha Marcus to allow me to go look for his daughter. So, he can’t have anyone find out that I’m searching for her.
I nod my head and mumble, “Thanks. I’ll be careful.”
I take the cash and pull enough bills off to pay for my bus ticket, and then I put the rest in my pocket. I need to make this stretch, but I’m still holding out hope I can find her rather quickly.
I glance back over at Beta Malcolm. I don’t know if it is the morning sun, or he is losing his ability to hide his emotions, because I can clearly tell by his frown and the creases across his forehead that he is worried. I will not lie. I’m really worried too. It has been a month since she disappeared.
The only reason Beta Malcolm has finally agreed to let me go look is that I wouldn’t leave him alone. Plus, when the last search came back with nothing, Alpha Marcus refused to send out anyone else to look for her. Beta Malcolm couldn’t handle it. He wants to find his daughter.
I reach my hand out and gently pat his shoulder, as I softly chime, “I will find her. I promise.”
He looks at me and for a few moments, we just stare at each other. We don’t have to say anything. We both know that this is our final and only option left. It has to work this time.
After a few minutes, he takes a deep breath and slowly nods his head.
I mumble softly, “Thanks.” I don’t wait for him to respond as I open the car door and get out. I quickly grab my large bag from the back seat and walk away from the car and towards the bus station.
I hope this works. The only thing I know for sure is that I need to head northeast. Maybe as I get closer to her, I will be able to feel her presence more, and I’ll know then for sure where I’m going.
Beta Malcolm watches Bridget’s back as she disappears into the bus station. Bridget is his last hope. If she doesn’t find his daughter, he doesn’t know what he’ll do. He doesn’t want to give up, but what is left?
If he had only known his daughter was Mike’s true mate sooner, he could have stopped this whole nightmare from even happening. However, he didn’t even protest when Alpha Marcus said that Bambi was Mike’s mate.
Beta Malcolm should have known the alpha wouldn’t know who Mike’s mate was, but the beta trusted and believed the alpha, which is his fault. Yes, Bambi is older, and that alone doesn’t trigger any warning flags. However, the beta should have realized something was off when Bambi came into the pack house for the first time. She was too calm.
If she was truly Mike’s mate and with her being nineteen, she should have gone a little bonkers with her mate nearby. However, she didn’t seem to be pulled towards Mike at all.
He is also positive that Alpha Marcus is behind this farce. Well, he is sure that the neighboring pack is pretty happy with the new alliance, but they wouldn’t have been able to get close to Mike if it wasn’t for his own father helping. However, the beta still is trying to figure out why the alpha would do something like that to his own son.
Did the alpha forget that Mike will still feel a little lost? Yes, the bond with Bambi will be there, but it won’t be like it would have been if Mike is mated with his true mate.
Beta Malcolm sighs as he runs his hand through his hair. How is he going to fix this mess? Or can it be fixed?
I can’t believe I’m actually learning to fight. I made a simple comment to Wyatt that I wish I could be more like him and bam. Ford and Mason are teaching me to fight. I think I could have handled just one teacher, but with both of them, it is like an intense lesson. When one has to leave to take care of something, the other one comes in and continues with my training. Usually, Mason is my primary teacher since he is the lead warrior and is the one leading all the training sessions while Ford is Wyatt’s Beta. Between the two, they have taught me in an extremely intense training session every day. I don’t even get Saturday or Sunday off. However, if this is going to get me to the level that Wyatt is at, then I’ll gladly work all these hours and more. Well, I have little else to do, so I might as well train. If I was back at my old pack, I would be getting ready to go back to college. However,
Oh, Brenda, she is too cute when she is thinking really hard. I should say Katelyn instead. I know she gave us a fake name when she first got here. We have given her so many hints to try and slowly let her know that we have special abilities. As the alpha of the pack, even though my gender is beta, I can see people’s abilities. My father, who was the former alpha, has the ability too. We have passed it from each generation to the next one. Other members of the pack have special abilities too. However, everyone in our pack has the ability to see into other people’s minds and see their thoughts. We still don’t understand how we have formed this ability, but it is also one reason that we have secretly hidden ourselves for many generations. According to our elders, other packs learned of our abilities and began to try to use them for their benefit. However, it didn’t take long for us to run in orde
I still can’t understand what has happened. How can someone who has never met me before know who I am?As I sit on the bus, I can’t seem to take my eyes off the bus driver. My mind keeps trying to figure it out. However, the only thing that I can think of is that Katelyn somehow knew I may come to her, and she showed them a picture of me. Nothing else explains what is happening.I finally tear my eyes away from Gus and look out the window. My mind is still trying to grasp the events for today, but what I keep jumping to is the fact that I will see my best friend in a few hours. Just the thought of finally getting to see her has me smiling. I also can’t stop trying to think of all the things I want to tell her. There is one thing that I’m positive that I won’t say to her. No matter what, I’m not going to tell her anything about Mike and that witch. Oops, I mean B
I still can’t believe everything that has happened today.First, I get to go back to school and get to study what I want to study. Never in a million years would I have thought that something like this would happen to me. Then Wyatt tells me all about the pack and of the secrets associated with the pack.I’m still shocked. He has also told me that Bridget has abilities, which is why she can sense where I’m at. If the elders work with her, Wyatt is sure that she will be able to sense and locate anyone when she really wants to find them. But one of the most shocking things he has told me is that most of the pack can read people’s minds. That blows my mind away, but then it suddenly clicks why Wyatt always knows what I’m thinking. I don’t have to even say it because if he wants to, he can just read my mind. He promises they try to keep it to a minimum, but they have to d
Wyatt leads us to the head table. The pack has set up another spot for Bridget at his head table. Only Beta Ford and Lead Warrior Mason have been sitting at the table up to now. If they have mates, then their mates would have been able to sit next to them too. Then, of course, Wyatt’s mate has a seat at the table right next to him, but since his mate’s death, the seat has been vacant. However, that is the seat I’ve been using since I’ve gotten here. The Alpha rearranges the seats a little, so my friend is sitting next to me while Mason and Ford are on the other side of Wyatt. As we sit down, my mind finally begins to work again. I look around the dining hall, but I don’t see Mason or Ford. We have been able to introduce Bridget to Mason when we were in the backyard earlier. He was just finishing up a training session, which I fortunately was able to get out of it toda
I don’t even know where I am, but my wolf is jumping around in delight and is howling. I continue to let Ford pull me through the halls of the pack house before he rushes into a room and pulls me in with him. He slams the door shut and before I can say anything else, he captures my lips in a searing hot kiss.I have never kissed anyone before, but at this moment, I don’t care if I don’t know how it is to be done. I just want to have his lips wrapped around me. I don’t care if it is my lips, my neck or anywhere else on my body. I need those lips to be in contact with me.My wolf howls in excitement as a burning fire ignites deep inside of me. My mind keeps chanting the same thing over and over. Claim him. He is mine. With the speed of lightning, Ford suddenly has our clothes off and scattered around the room. I still don’t know how that has happened, but I’m not
I head out of the pack house towards the training grounds. However, my mind can’t stop wondering if Bridget is all right. I know Wyatt said that Ford will try to be gentle, but he couldn’t guarantee anything. He explained that when Ford’s wolf takes over that he will become more of an animal than a human. The only bright side is that we are werewolves, and we heal fast.A part of me also feels like an idiot. I never thought that there was so much to know about finding and claiming your mate. In my wild fantasy world, mates would practically run to each other and happily embrace each other. Then the male would whisk the female off her feet before heading to the bedroom, where they make love and claim each other.I don’t know that the wolf takes over at some point and the mates become two wild beasts, trying to devour each other. I don’t even know if Bridget knows any of this.
I know it has only been a year since I’ve lost Paulette, but for the first time since I’ve lost her, I enjoy looking at someone again. It differs completely from her, though. When I met her, I immediately could feel the pull, but with Katelyn, I have slowly found myself excited to see her and to spend time with her in our little area of the house. Granted, I’m not looking for someone else, but I think I’ve found someone. However, I don’t want to force her if she doesn’t feel the same way. Plus, she is still heartbroken over that idiot mate of hers claiming someone else. I still can’t believe Mike has allowed his father and the fake woman to convince him that the fake is his mate. I’m sure Katelyn is right that it is all for the alliance with the neighboring pack. Well, the Moon Goddess will teach them a lesson sooner or later. I take a moment to savor the view of her in only a towel. Hmmm… The training
