Meguitte Makes Plans

Havermouth, Present Time

As Connery saw the dragons settled into a vacant office at the hospital, Meguitte stood out in the flood-light lit parking lot and looked up at the night-dark sky. The tarmac with its neat lines dictating where cars should be parked was now empty of all but a few traces of the Van Helsing occupation.

Here and there, a piece of fabric fluttered, caught in the landscaping that edged the carpark, and pieces of medical debris gathered in the gutters. Around the rear of the hospital, it was worse. This side had been where the Van Helsings had stored the dead, or abandoned those they could not be bothered helping to die slowly as their bodies ate them from the inside out.

Around the other side, they had been experimenting on infected humans, on werewolves, and on zombies, and it was from there that they had been transporting those cases that they found interesting to other locations, like Haven Farm, in order to study them further.
