Havermouth, Present Time

They did not have to go far for Heath to find breakfast. The Van Helsings were active on the main street, and their activities were not good. Talen signalled Heath to climb up the building and they crossed the roof to crouch behind the decorative parapet facade. They watched as the Van Helsings strung up several bodies over the streetlights, lining the road with them. Ten in total.

They would force the men onto the rooves of the 4WDs, string the rope over the streetlight, and then drive away, leaving them swinging. After a moment, each began to kick as if trying to swim through the air.

“They’re hanging themselves…” Heath flinched as another dropped. There was something so very brutal about the rope pulling tight, that he could almost hear the crunch of the man’s neck breaking, and then that eery reanimation made the hair on his arms stand on end. “Those are Van Helsings that they’re stringing up.”

“They are in Van Helsing uniform, at least,” Talen corrected.
