Chapter 45 - A Closet full of skeletons?

I parked the car on the side and turned backwards. "Tell me what exactly happened". He pressed the bridge of his nose in irritation.

He opened the door and went out of the car; I also opened the door to go after him but found him already bending exactly to the level of my face. All the things that were swirling in my mind vanished, and all I could think about was his face which was inches away from mine. None of us said anything, for I don't know how much time. We were constantly looking at each other, and slowly, his eyes shifted from my eyes to my nose and stopped at my lips. I was so nervous that I could hear my heart beating loudly and clearly.

"Shift..." I can see his lips moving, but my brain is unable to process any sound or visual. The only thing I knew was that if he came even an inch near me, the little distance between our lips would also vanish. He raised his hand and cupped my cheek... {Is he going to kiss me? Do I want that? Do I not want that?}.
