The police had deceived everyone about Clarkson's death. Contrary to their claims, he wasn't dead but rather trapped in a state of vegetative unconsciousness, confined to a hospital bed.

Twelve days had passed, and news of Ayva's disappearance had spread like wildfire across the media. Unfortunately, it wasn't the kind of attention I had hoped for. Instead of being treated as a missing person, she was now wanted for the alleged attempted murder of Clarkson.

According to the authorities, Clarkson had been forcefully pushed from the rooftop, and Ayva's blood and DNA were discovered at the crime scene. This was deemed as definitive evidence by the police, leading them to conclude that she had callously pushed a grown man to his death. Despite my relentless efforts to make them see reason, to make them understand that Ayva was not the assailant they claimed her to be, and that she was actually a victim herself, they remained steadfast in their belief.
