Chapter Thirty Two

Justin’s POV

The piercing sound of the alarm shattered the peacefulness of my room, causing me to jolt awake. I quickly slammed my hand down on the tiny button, desperate to silence the noise. As the alarm finally ceased, I let out a groan, feeling the weight of a throbbing headache settle in. It was as if my head had been repeatedly struck against a cold, unforgiving metal surface.

Regret washed over me as I slowly pulled myself up into a sitting position, drinking last night had been a terrible idea. The consequences were now painfully evident, both in the pounding in my head and the foggy haze that clouded my thoughts.

As I rose to my feet and made my way to the bathroom to get ready for work, memories of my conversations with Ayva flooded into my mind. I stopped, gripping the edge of the wall to keep myself from tripping over. My other hand reached up to fist my hair as I cursed under my breath for losing control and saying what I never should have.
