Chapter 44: The Howling in the Dark

VALKYRIE

"This is inconvenient," Gwen complained at the blackness of the labyrinth. However, we were already accustomed with the dark of the night because our eyes could see even the edge of the shadow. We were the creatures of the night in the first place as vampires. So even the labyrinth didn't even had a speck of light, we could see just fine. There were five squads that tagged along with Vance, Enzo, Wan, Oscar and me as their leaders. Of course, Cayde and Gwen was in my unit. Each unit had three deltas while the rest of our warriors remained back home and supervised by Esther. We had no idea how many our enemies were, or rather those hybrids but we had no choice but to infiltrate their hideout. The more time we waste, the more father and my mate would be in danger.

"You shouldn't have come with us," Cayde said, clicking his tongue. "Don't worry, We'll make sure to bring Sage in one piece. Especially, Primrose if ever she's here."
