It seemed to me that my big brother was kind of a little pissed off at the moment. I could not figure out why, but the way he said that we were going to ransack the place alone together without the help of his ally who happened to be the mayor of this city, suggested that he was doing his best to make sure that I learn as much lessons as I could from this mess that I had made. I was just not sure if he really wanted this, or if there was at least a small amount of hesitation that forbidden him to literally do this thing.
Moving on, we watched the mayor as he drove his white van away from the public plaza. His headlights illuminated the partly dimmed driveway of the place, and it even ricocheted among the crowns of trees up above. The penumbra of the moon, which happened to be of the same color as the white van’s headlights, ceased to glow as a thick batch of gray clouds covered it in whole. The moment the car finally went away from our horizons completely,
The door of the white van suddenly slid wide open, revealing the empty interior of the vehicle. Inside, there was not a single person seating. Inside, all I could even see was empty seats and dramatic yellow-gold colored curtains flowing over the window panes that were tinted with black sheets of glasses. As I continued scanning for what was inside, I came to realize that there was a huge black backpack seating over the last seat of the queue. And then, right when I was about to divert my gaze, the door of the driver’s seat suddenly slid, too. It was only then when we heard a voice that commanded us to get inside before anyone else, according to the voice, could see us. “Hop in. We ain’t got no time to meddle here. Y’all should know that I was kinda in a hurry also,” the anonymous, unfamiliar, and discreet voice suddenly said. Judging from the way he spoke, I must say that he was a British. As what was advised to us by the confidant
What happened was very crucial because nobody, among all of the people passing back and forth to and from the entrance gate of the Hamlet Creek University, was able to spot us as we attempted to enter the hazardous and perhaps warning-driven front part of the area. None of the students, of the parents, and even of the three other guards who were assigned to guard the entrance gate was able to see us entered. We successfully overcame the overthought possibilities, both the good and the bad, without difficulty at all. All it took was just three minutes of creeping forward past the gigantic but dimmed gate of the university. Afterwards, we seek for hideout in the nearest hall--the Artists’ Hall, which by the way, was empty--and we hid it there. It did not took us long enough because on the seventh minute since we began our operation, the area cleared out for a moment. However, one thing I had noticed, we never saw any of my friends were fetched by their parents. That made me to c
It happened so fast. The next thing we knew, we were already out of the building, and we had successfully gotten the bloody butcher knife out of the secret place where I hid it without being caught by the police or by anyone from the Federation of Bureau of Investigation team. We successfully gotten ourselves out of the building, just like how we successfully gotten ourselves in. Everything worked according to how it was all planned. From the unexpected escape from the hospital, to the thrilling and action-packed tree to bush hopping just to get closer to the gate, to the brilliant execution of the bomb threat dummy, and finally, to the last blueprint of the plan. It was excellently done. All of it. And I now I could not help my self but think that me and my big brother could now call ourselves the next Hercule Exposito. Because for real, what we did were amazing. Every single one of it. They were all amazing.I wrapped the bloody butcher knife with my upp
What I did not clearly understand was, why would my big brother want my friends to go to our house right away? If the purpose really was to meet them and only that and nothing else, why did it had to be on our house and not anywhere else? I just could not deduce the possible answers and the longer I stayed and engaged my self in that one particular question, the harder it was for me to find a possible answer.Big brother tossed his phone back to where it came from--inside his vest. He then stared at me blankly before he decided it was now the best time to move in the car and settle ourselves so that we could now begin the trip going to our home. Just by simply looking at the mirror, I saw how his hands were delicate as they moved to lay its fingers on to the steering wheel. Without saying a word, my big brother starter the engine and began to turn the car so it would move out of its parking spot. As the car’s air conditioner began to send cool air that alm

Just by simply looking at the mirror, I saw how his hands were delicate as they moved to lay its fingers on to the steering wheel. Without saying a word, my big brother starter the engine and began to turn the car so it would move out of its parking spot. As the car’s air conditioner began to send cool air that almost frosted the inside of the vehicle, I initiated a conversation just so the ambiance inside would never become awkward. “Uhm, big brother, may I know why you gave our address to my classmates? Why do you want them to come there and why now? Is there any other agenda that you have other than meeting them and ensuring that they are safe?” I asked, and those were three consecutive questions in one dialogue only. “
CHUCKNo one could ever begin to describe how happy all of us were the moment we saw Travis slid the mayor’s van’s door open. The way his face appeared out of nowhere, and the way his eyes reflected the dimming lights of the stars only reminded us of hope and nothing else anymore. It was very dramatic. Too much drama. Loaded with drama. But that was the kind of drama that I would not get tired of being involved into, and the kind of drama that no matter how many times it would happen to me (or to us), we would never get used to it. It was one of the best feeling in the world, perhaps after a long time. It was one of the moments worthy of reminiscing, one of the moments that deserved a milestone carved in our hearts. And his face, his innocent, bare, and clean face. A face that reminded us of a beautiful and well-cared sapphire, that you would surely offer your life in exchange of its safety. That was the face w
The inside light of the vehicle flickered, gradually becoming vivid as I opened my eyes carefully. I rose from laying on the backseat, and stretched my body. I looked outside of the window and I realized the trip was not yet over. We were still on the run going home, and my big brother was still taking control of the steering wheel. This was indeed a long, tiring, trip, but I never thought that it was going to cost me another half an hour of nap before we could surely reach home. “Are we not home yet?” I asked big brother, and the way he looked at me through the mirror up above his head was a little confusing. He was sweating, I noticed, although the air conditioner of the vehicle was twisted to its fullest. There were also fear and tremor in his eyes, and that was what I could not understand why and where did they come from. It took me another three more seconds to finally decide if whether or not should I ask him about it or should I jus ignore it like it was nothing s
PHILIP The hotness that the water from the jacuzzi offered was so satisfying enough to cleanse our body from stress and body pain that we all had got after a long, very tiring and exhausting day at the Hamlet Creek University. The infinity pool, as expected, was filled with brimming cold water, and the breeze it had was blown by the wind towards our direction, which offered us a great sensation of having both cool and warm temperatures at the same time. Nothing else would give us this chilling feeling other than this infinity pool itself. While all of us were in boxer shorts with half of our bodies were soaked to the warm water of the jacuzzi, Travis was looking like an unbothered king on the air bed floating in between the rest of us. A plain and simple white bath robe was wrapped around his body, as he laid himself down in an inclined manner, where in his left hand was holding a bottle of champaigne
