Chapter 17
The next day, Rebecca woke up and did her chores like she usually does in the morning. She got dressed in her uniform and waited for her mother to come out. Around 7:30 am, her mother had gotten ready and she came out for her breakfast.
“Good morning mum,” she greeted her mother. “How was your night?” Prof. Grace asked.
“It was okay mum,” Rebecca answered. “Good, aren’t you leaving to school with your friends today?” her mother questioned.
“I am, I just want you to call Richard. He didn’t show up yesterday,” Rebecca complained.
“Maybe he had a tight schedule. You know it has not been easily for him to teach you and at the same time study,” her mother explained.
“You are right mum,” Rebecca responded. “You should be patient with him,” her mother urged her.
“Okay mum, I’m off to school,” Rebecca said as she proceeded to her way out of the house. “I will see you after school then,” her mother responded.

It was Saturday, Richard had just finished cooking his breakfast. It was a noodle that barely took him five minutes to get cooked. He put the noodle on a plate and sat by the edge of his bed. It took him about five minutes to finish eating the noodles. A week later, the day which Rebecca will be witnessing the inter house sports arrived. She woke up since 5 am feeling so excited and nervous at the same time. She went to her bathroom and brushed her teeth before coming back to her room. She sat by her bed imagining what she will expect.She thought about Richard and how he will be impressed if she wins the 100 meter race. She had been the best racer so far, but she still doubted herself until then. About an hour later, she stood up and went to the kitchen to start preparing breakfast. She suddenly remembered that her mother had bought some bread the previous night. She put some water for tea on the stove and walked to living room.She turn on the TV started watching it to kill some time. 10 minutes later, she went back to the kitchen and found the water already boiling. She prepared some tea and put it in a red flask. She then fried some eggs and had it covered with a plate.

Richard went back to his room and lied on his bed. He couldn’t stop thinking about what happened. It was obviously clear to him that Rebecca really loved him. But then, she was more like a desire he can’t have. He never really understood what love is till he met her. Despite how he valued his education, he scarified his continuous assessment just because he was dying to see her face. And what worries him most is the fact that he doesn’t have anybody to share his story to not even Paul.It was an emotion deep inside him inside that he wished he could tell someone. Richard went to his dormitory and discovered that it had run out of power. Even though he had not eaten since in the afternoon, he wasn't on his right mind to feel hungry. He walked into his room and lied on the bed alone in the dark. He kept thinking about what happened and how he set everything back into order. He lied in the room for than three hours until he finally got himself together to have something to eat. Due to the fact that he was so hungry, he decided to one of the restaurants close to the dormitory and eat even though he didn't like their foods. He changed into a white long robe and walked out of his room. He walked for some minutes before arriving at the restaurant. As soon as he sat down, he received a call from Paul. In the night around 8 pm, Richard gathered all his clothes and put them in his travelling bag. He hurriedly walked out of the room so that his roommates won't meet him. He walked to a cab close to his dormitory and boarded it. "Where should I take you?" The can driver asked after he started the engine of the car. Richard remained quiet for a moment, because he hadn't come up with a place to go. "Excuse Mister, are you with me?" The cab driver asked noticing Richard's silence.
