Camela's POV
"What are you going to wear tomorrow to see Mr. CEO," Tia asked
"I was thinking I would wear my blue suit with a white shirt underneath."
"You should wear something shorter," She said
"Why would I do that?"
"Because you have a hot CEO that is attracted to you."
"No, he's not," I replied shocked that she would think that
"He called you personally after you screamed at him in his office. You even declined the job at first. Why would he go through all the trouble if he doesn't have a thing for you?" She asked
"He might feel I am the best qualified for the position,"
"Yeah right! You and I both know that there were a lot of people there that were more qualified. You have never been an Admin Assistant," She said and I knew she was right
Why would he want me as his Assistant? He had told me he had already found the person that was fit for the job. He didn't even interview me. I was beginning to think it would be a bad idea to show up in the morning.
"Maybe I shouldn't go," I said
"Don't do that Cami! You are going to meet him tomorrow. You need this job to take care of Liam. You are smart and a quick learner. You can do this," She said
"You are right! I am going to this meeting with my head held high. I can be an Admin Assistant. It can't be that hard" I said cheerfully
"That's right girl,"
"Now I need to go to sleep so I'm not late," I said and went to get ready for bed
The Next Day
" I have to go, T! I'm already running late," I said and walked out the door
It was 8:50 AM and I was supposed to show up at 9 AM. I went to my Nissan and drove off. It was a ten-hour drive so I knew I wouldn't make it on time. I was sure he would withdraw the job offer.
As I pulled in and parked, I went into the building. I had to go through the security check again. After I was done with security, I went to the elevator without stopping at the helpdesk. I pressed the eighth floor and waited for the elevator to stop.
Once I was on the eighth floor, I went to the front desk and was greeted by the same lady that took me to Mr. Mitchell's room for the interview. She had a warm smile on her face.
"Hello, I have a meeting with Mr. Mitchell today,"
"Of course Miss Davis, right? Come on back he has been waiting for you," She said which caused me to worry
"I will take her back," Another woman said with hazel eyes that looked familiar. I couldn't remember exactly where I had seen those eyes.
"I hope he's not upset that I am late. I know it doesn't give the right impression," I said to her as we walked to his office
"Don't worry about it. He will be happier that you showed up," She said
I was confused by what she said but decided to ignore it.
When we arrived at his office, she surprised me by walking in without knocking.
"Miss Davis has arrived brother," She said and I looked at her and then at him. They had so many features that were alike. Their facial structure, eyes, and the color of their hair. The only difference was that she was a female and he was a male.
"I know we look so much alike. It's because we are twins. My name is Blaire," She said and held her hand out for me to shake. I shook her hand and smiled.
"It's nice to meet you, Miss Mitchell," I said
"Just call me Blaire. I have a feeling you and I are going to become the best of friends," She said
I was confused about why we would become friends but maybe that was how this company was.
"Ok Blaire, enough of that. Me and Miss Davis have a business to discuss," Mr. Mitchell said and Blaire rolled her eyes.
"Sure brother!" She said to him and walked out the door
I turned to look at him once she was gone. His eyes were already on me staring at me, deep in my eyes. I was beginning to feel nervous from his gaze on me. I knew my cheeks were turning red.
"Hello, Mr. Mitchell! I am sorry I am late" I said quietly
"That's alright! I know these things happen sometimes. Why don't you have a seat," He said.
I sat down in the chair across from him. Nobody said anything for a moment. He kept staring at me. I was starting to get self-conscious from his intense gaze. I cleared my throat before speaking.
"I believe you wanted to talk to me about the Administrative Assistant position," I said
That seemed to bring him back to reality. He sat up straight and his face showed no emotion.
"Of course Miss. Davis. This position is an 8 AM to 5 PM position. You will be setting my appointments, entering data in the system, answering the phone, and taking messages. You will also attend meetings with my clients and enter important information into the system. I am sure you know that your confidentiality is important. You will hear and see a lot of important information that you can't share with anyone else," he stopped for a moment to make sure I understood everything he had said.
"I understand! I won't tell anyone anything I hear," I said
"I'm sure you already know what we do here but I will tell you anyway. Mitchell's INC is an organization that owns different properties all over the world. Not only do we own hotels but also Apartment Building. We also own Different Clothing stores and Restaurants," He finished. He then printed out a piece of paper and handed it to me.
"This is your Job Offer Letter. It will tell everything from your position to your pay. All is up for negotiation if you disagree with anything," He said
I looked at the letter and couldn't believe my eyes. He was going to pay me fifty-thousand dollars upfront. Along with two thousand dollars weekly. He must have made a mistake
"Sir, there must be a mistake," I said
"What is wrong? We can negotiate,"
"This says you will give me fifty-thousand dollars up front," I said
"Is that not enough? I can change the amount,"
"NO!" I shouted
He looked at me with a shocked expression on his face.
"I don't need more money. That is too much money. I can't accept it," I said
I tried to give him the offer letter back, but he placed his hand in mine. I felt sparks from his touch. Not the bad kind but the kind that makes you feel warm and tingly inside. I didn't want him to let go.
He smiled seeing the way I reacted to his touch.
"You can and will accept this offer. You will also receive a house and car. I will show you your new home once we are done with the paperwork. If you accept this position," He said and looked at me, waiting for my answer.
I thought about it and realized that this could change Liam and my mine life. Our house was in bad condition and I needed a more reliable car.
"I have a younger brother that I am responsible for. He would be coming with me if I move because I am all he has left. My best friend lives with us too. She will be the one that babysits him for me when I am at work. I don't know if other people are allowed to move into the homes that you provide," I said
"You are allowed to bring family with you to the home and your friend will be able to come as well. There is a daycare that is close by just in case you would like to look into it. Do you accept my offer, Miss. Davis,"
"Yes,"
"I have a younger brother that I am responsible for. He will come with me if I move because I am all he has left. My best friend lives with us too. She will be the one that babysits him for me when I am at work. I don't know if other people are allowed to move into the homes that the company provides," I said "You are allowed to bring family to the home, and your friend will also be able to come. A daycare is nearby just in case you would like to look into it. Do you accept my offer, Miss. Davis," "Yes," Camela's POV "Great! "Let's go," Mr. Mitchell said. "Where are we going?" I asked, confused. "I want to show you your new house, and you need to get a car," he explained. I got to my feet and followed him out of his office. A woman with blond hair approached him, smiling. She dressed in a short dress that made her look like she was going to a club rather than work. She yanked his tie and leaned her body on his. I could feel myself becoming annoyed by how close she was to h
Camela's POV"This is way too much, Mr. Mitchell," I said, pushing the cartWhile we were on our way to the car lot, Mr. Mitchell decided to stop at Target. Saying that, I needed some stuff for the new house."No, it's not. You and Liam need new things for your new home," He said"Don't you think it is inappropriate for you to be shopping with me?" I asked"No, I don't see how that is inappropriate," He said"Mr. Mitchell," I started but was cut off"There is nothing wrong with me taking you to the store and helping you pick out a few items for your new home. After this, we still have to pick out your car," He said"But you are my boss," He said"Exactly, I am the boss, and what I say goes. So don't worry about anyone else. They won't say anything to disrespect you, or they will have to deal with me," he said. I could tell that he was serious."And the name is Blake,""Excuse me,""My name is Blake. Enough of that, Mr. Mitchell nonsense. You don't ever have to call me that," He saidI
Camela's POV"What would you like to eat, Liam," Blake askedHe had taken us to the fair since it was that time of the year."I'm not hungry. I want to play," Liam said, causing me to smile"Okay, let us go play them. We will be back, ladies," Blake said as he took him over to one of the kiddie rides"You are so lucky," Tiara said"What are you talking about?" I asked "You know what I am talking about, Cami. That hot CEO billionaire has the hots for you," She said"No, he doesn't. He is my boss and is friendly,""You and I both know that is a bunch of bullshit. I think he likes you more than likes you," She said."He hardly knows me. How can he more than like me?" I asked"I don't know, but I am telling you that he does," She said We sat for a while until Blake returned to our table with Liam. He had a big bag of blue cotton candy. "Liam, you are going to be sticky now. Let me see," I said and took the bag away from him."I think your sister is right, little man. You need to eat so
Camela's POV"How do I look?" I asked Tiara as I made my way into the kitchen."Better than the outfit you had on yesterday. I still think you can lose a few inches of your skirt. You do have a CEO boyfriend," She said with a smirk on her face."He is not my boyfriend. He is my boss," I said"For now," she replied"I have to go to work. See you later," I said and kissed Liam on his cheek."Bye, Liam," I said and headed outside. When I got outside, I was surprised to see a Limo parked in my driveway. Two men that looked like security guards were standing outside of the Limo. The driver stepped out of the driver's seat when I walked out. I remembered him from one of the men that worked for Blake."Ms. Davis, Mr. Mitchell sent me to pick you up for work," He said "That is unnecessary. I can drive myself to work," I said"I am sorry, mam, bosses orders," He saidI picked up my phone and called Blake. He had saved his number on my phone earlier when we were at Target shopping yesterday.
Blake's POV"Have a seat," I told Camela as we arrived at my office. She seemed to hesitate but finally sat on the chair across from me. I noticed that she wouldn't look at me. Instead, she kept looking everywhere but in my direction. I put my hand on hers and could feel that warm feeling that I only think from her touch."I am sorry about what happened out there. I promise it won't happen again," I said, and she looked at me."You have nothing to apologize to me for, Mr. Mitchell. I just work for you," She said"That is not true, and you know it," I said"What do you mean?" She asked "There is something that I need to tell you. It may sound crazy, but I promise it is all true," I said, looking deep into her eye."I'm listening," She said, staring back at me."Well, there is a myth in my family. Everyone in my family will receive a soulmate one day," I said, and she looked at me, confused."Okay, a myth about soulmates. What does that mean that you all find your true love or somethin
Camela's POV"Is there anything else you need me to do, Mr. Mitchell?" I asked I was sitting at my desk bored for almost two hours. Whenever I asked if he needed anything, he would tell me no."No, everything is fine at the moment, and my name is Blake to you," He said "I am sure there is something I can do," I said"No, I am almost done here. In a minute, we can get some lunch. Are you hungry?" He askedI was hungry but didn't want to complain. I had hardly done any work besides setting some appointments. I felt like I wasn't doing my job right."I'm not hungry," I said, and he looked over at me."You are lying. I know you are hungry," He said and then stood out of his chair and grabbed his suit jacket."Come on. It's time for lunch," He said and held his hand out for me to hold.I hesitated for a minute but finally placed my hand in his, feeling tingles all over my hand where he touched. We walked to his private elevator and got in. Once we were on the ground floor, everyone watch
Camela's POV "Did you like the food, sir," The waitress asked She has been coming to our table nonstop the whole time we have been here to flirt with Blake. All I wanted to do was beat the shit out of her. She was acting like I wasn't even there. "Yes, the food was good. We will take the check now," Blake said "I am so happy you liked it. I hope you will come back soon," She said and placed her hand on his shoulder. "He said he wants the check," I growled. She looked over at me for the first time. "Sure, I will get that for you," She said and walked away. My hands were bald in fists. It was taking a lot for me not to cuss her out. I looked over at Blake, who had a smile on his face. "What?" I asked "I guess you do feel it," He said "Feel what?" I asked "Our bond, deep down, you know that we are meant to be," He said, and I rolled my eyes. "How am I going to believe that when everywhere we go, someone is flirting with you," I said. He placed his hand in mine and I could fee
Camela's POV "What do you mean he told you that you two are soulmates?" Tiara asked "Exactly what I said. He said that we are soulmates and that everyone in his family has a soulmate," I replied After my conversation with Blake and our visit to the house that he said was ours, I told him I needed to think about everything and asked him to take me home. I felt overwhelmed after he asked me to move in with him. I didn't know him, and even though I felt a connection with him. I still had responsibilities. The most important one being my brother. I was all he had, and even though Blake said he wanted to take care of him, too, I still didn't know if it was a good idea to move in with him. "What did you say?" She asked "That I needed time to think," I told her "Girl, if it were me, I would have hurried up and moved in with him," She said "You don't have a three-year-old to take care of. I can't just pack my bags and move in with him. I don't know him," I said "I guess you are right,
