Dara wasn't sure just how she managed to through the following week. Zane insisted she call into work sick and stay away all week. He had turned down two short assignments from Derek to stay home and hover over her. Every time her cell phone rang he insisted she tell him who it was before she answered. Her immediate supervisor had called twice checking on her. One of the girls she hung with at work checked up on her.

She'd only had the phone two months. It was a novelty, since Jason had cut off all forms of communication with anyone but him or his friends. She had been stingy about giving it out. Work had it. Maya and one of the other girls had it. A couple of other necessary people. But since she'd been out of circulation for so long it wasn't as if she had a string of friends to share it with.
