Chapter 39

An hour after Shawn left the room, he returned and when he looked at the centre of the room where he left Aldridge, only the red silk was hanging from the beam. 

He looked around the room then cleared his throat and went over to the spare room that would be Hudson’s place of residence until he leaves.

He opened the door and saw Aldridge lying naked on his stomach with his eyes closed. Behind him, Mrs Wright was applying ointment on his wounds where she needed to.

When she saw Shawn walk in, she noticed the black book in his hands and recalled that Hudson had that same book with him.

Shawn gazed at her profoundly and asked, “Who gave you permission to remove Aldridge?”
