SASHA POV
I stay silent as Luis and Roland chain the filthy man to a metal chair that looks to be cemented into the ground. Ben is standing against the wall and glaring at me, but I ignore him. I don't care if he feels as if I disrespected him in front of his pack; this is what I have been trained for.My parents and Luis have spent years honing my muscles and my mind for assassination attempts. I know how to fight. I know how to interrogate. I know how to tell false information from the truth. I have done nothing but train for this moment. Ben can scowl and act like a pup all he wants. This was an attack on my life, and I will be the one to gather the facts from this pile of trash.Sasha- I need a blade and a bottle of wolfsbane.Roland- I brought my bag it is on the table. There are pliers and a saw in the bag also.Sasha- perfect. Luis, is he bound?Luis- yes. Even his neck is restrained.Sasha- let's begin. Stay silent untilSASHA POVI put my parents on speaker and set my phone on the middle console in the car. Luis gives me a side glare, but I ignore him. "SASHA STONE, YOU WILL OBEY ME," Father yells through the earpiece just as I thought he would. "Father, Mom, and dad both agree with me. You have been outvoted. Why can't you just believe in me and my abilities," I ask while letting my frustration and hurt ring in my voice. I am so tired of my Father acting as if I am incapable. I understand his love is driving his fear, but sometimes it is as if he doubts me. "Sasha, this isn't about how strong you are. This is about what is the safest option," Father growls, and I hear mom sigh. "Jacks, our daughter is a first-born descendant. Her wolf is faster, stronger, and larger than 80% of all werewolves. She has the upper hand even when she is out
ALPHA BEN POV Roland's posture stiffens as I approach him with my hands in my pockets. I place a smirk on my face, and his eyes darken. Now that I realize what is causing his disrespect, I like the man. He respected his mate enough to let her handle her relationship. He stepped aside and bit his tongue like a man. I stop a foot away and morph my smirk into a full-blown smile. His chest vibrates as he restrains his growl. He is probably pissed because I smell as if Chelsea and I had an intimate moment. I mean, I am drenched in her scent. I pull one of my hands from my pocket and offer it to him. "Congratulations on having Chelsea as your mate," I say, and his facial expression falls instantly. He grabs my hand and shakes it while his mouth hangs open in surprise."Umm, thanks...I wasn't expecting a handshake," Roland says,
SASHA POV As the two rogues I allowed to live drag what they assume is my unconscious body, I push my mental barrier out as far as I can. I have only practiced this once, but I am pretty sure I can link Father. Our connection is solid, and I need to warn him. I know the strain will mentally exhaust me, but it has to be done.Sasha- Father, can you hear me? If you can act normal.Father- Sasha, I can, but you are faint. How are you, baby? Are you okay?Father's voice cracks in my head, and I immediately know my Father is crying.Sasha- Father, listen, please. I allowed them to take me. They knew way too much about my schedule today. They ambushed Luis in the bathroom and drug him out. They knew since we have a life bond, I would feel him. We have traitors.....and not just in Riverstone. I need you to act like I am in danger, and this wasn't on purpose, so their informants don't
BEN POVStanding on the porch waiting for the Royals has never felt this nerve-wracking. I know the twins are aware of Chelsea, but I don't know if they know about Sasha and I. Honestly, Ace and I would welcome any kind of physical pain they have to offer."How are you feeling. The head good," Vince asks, cutting into my depressive state of mind."Yeah, man. You know how it is that injury to my prefrontal cortex never really healed. I just got overwhelmed for a second. Ace is pissed he can't heal it. Are you trying to force small talk on me," I ask while shooting him a glance."Yup. Your mate is missing, and her parents are about to disembowel all of us. I'm just glad you disclosed the information to Chelsea already," Vince states, and I nod my head as we both watch the pack vehicles pull up.Jason and Amelia shoot me hateful glares, but I remain calm. Their looks could be due
ALPHA BEN POV I growl quietly as I watch the Royals and Sasha's guards eat like my mate isn't still missing. Last night after Jackson stopped me from skinning Bailey alive, things changed. All the Royals seemed to relax, like taking care of the traitors were the only thing that had mattered to them. Chelsea and Vince are just as confused as I am. I can tell by the way Chelsea keeps eyeing Roland and Vince keeps furrowing his eyebrows. Finally, Ace and I break. I slam my hands on the table, and I snarl at the calm faces. "What the hell is going on," I question with barely contained fury. Luis and Roland stiffen, but the Royals remain calm. My outburst even seems to amuse Jackson."We are having breakfast," Jacks states with a hint of humor in his eyes that are identical to my mate's."And after we are done eating, we are leaving
BEN POV I slam the door to my office before I flip my solid wood desk with one arm. My computer monitor shatters, and I roar out my frustration into the tiny space. Ace wants to run and kill something, but I push him down. I will let my wolf out later tonight. Right now, I need to work through my own anger.I know the royals had been pissed about our situation but to keep me in the dark about Sasha being okay was just cruel. I still don't know how she was able to get away or what actually transpired last night. A knock sounds on my door, and I growl when it opens. Chelsea and Vince stare at my office with horrified expressions before shifting their gazes to my heavy breathing figure."Ben, what is going on," Chelsea asks in a soft voice while Vince crosses his arms."They fucking knew she was okay and didn't even tell us. Shot, our trackers are still out there looking," I growl, and Vince sha
SASHA POV My heart and mind are literally at war. Everything in me says to stand tall and walk away. My lycan and Alpha blood are unyielding towards my mate. But my heart feels like it is already in his hand. He can easily crush it some more or repair it. I scrub the citrus scent shampoo into my hair and sigh at finally cleansing my body of the rogues' filthy blood. It surprises me that killing so many wolves in a short time frame hasn't bothered me. I mean, I have tortured threats to my home pack as part of my training, but I have never killed before this week. I think over all the males I have ended. I try to find some kind of remorse over my actions, but I find none. They were evil men and gave a bad name to the werewolf species. But still, shouldn't I be sad that I took so many lives.Natalia- That's what makes us an Alpha. We must do what is right no matter the
BEN POV "You did good," Chels says, and I grin. "I'm going to take her to Marshal's. I think she will like it. Plus, the way they have their booths set up is cozy and private. We have a lot to talk about," I say while I shift through my closet. Chelsea closes the box she is filling and sits down on the bed we have been sharing for three years. She looks down with a frown, and I stop moving hangers. "What's wrong," I ask as I lean against the closets' door frame. I fold my arms and wait. Chelsea looks around. What was once our room and sighs?"Do you think Roland could become a part of White Crest," Chelsea asks, and I pull my eyebrows together. "Sure, I mean he would have to denounce membership to the royal pack, but that shouldn't be a problem," I say sincerely."If Sasha accepts you....
