77. Oscar was scared

I paced around the living room. Ghazi had texted me earlier telling me that Zal got hurt and that he was going to get home a bit later than when he was scheduled for. My mind was so caught up in the thought of him getting hurt that I replied to Ghazi’s text with a simple thank you. Deep down I knew that Ghazi mostly kept things in the dark for me. He’d done it more times than I could remember. This was maybe why it didn’t work between us. Among other things.

At that moment I realized that Zal wouldn’t shield me from the truth. I knew how dangerous his work was and I knew for sure that he’d tell me if I asked. The man wouldn’t shield me knowing that it was better for me to know the real situation so I could be more prepared.
