And that was all she could manage to take before she stabbed the knife in her hand into the steak on the counter and half yelled at them, boiling with annoyance. "Can you all shut the hell up already?!"

They all smacked their lips together all at once and she huffed, breathing in and out before turning to face them.

They all turned their faces away and just as she shook her head and turned around to continue her business, she heard them chorus synchronically, "We are sorry, ma'am."

She was taken about by that. The knife she'd just grabbed almost slipped out of her hand but she quickly tightened her grip on it and gulped down the bile that had raised down her throat.

She didn't respond because yes; why would she when all she's getting the sudden respect? She acted unaware of their apology and began to dice the carrots and other vegetables, her mind still whirling around the happenings in the abode of recent.
