CHAPTER SEVENTY NINE

Scarlett’s POV

The guard in front of me shifted uneasily, his eyes darting around the room as if seeking guidance. His voice quivered slightly as he responded, "Scarlett, please understand that our primary objective is to keep you safe. There are reports that the enemy forces are closing in on our location. It is not safe for you to venture outside."

I bit my lip, my mind racing with a whirlwind of thoughts. The guard's words only heightened my anxiety, amplifying the urgency of the situation. The noises from outside grew louder, each thud and clash echoing through the walls of the safehouse, reverberating in my chest.

"I can't stay here while the pack that has been protecting me all this period fights for their lives," I pleaded, my voice laced with determination and a touch of desperation. "I need to be there with them, to protect and support them. We are in this together."
