KAI’S POINT OF VIEW

I was entirely restless. Ryder would not let me see Elena or tell me how she was doing. He knew it was killing me inside that I did not know what was happening to her, and he enjoyed it. It made me upset, yet there was nothing I could do. He had the right to deny me access to see her.

Despite his constant refusal, I waited outside his office. I was told he stepped out with his worker. I just needed to see her once and know if she was okay. If she was conscious, I wanted to know what her next plan was.

“Sir, you might have to leave and return tomorrow.” A woman told me, holding out a glass of water for me to take. I did not know what her duty was here, but she was nice. “I don’t think he’ll come back here until tomorrow.”

I took the water from her. “I don’t mind waiting.”

“Alright. Please let me know if you need anything else.”

“Thank you.”

I drank from the water and let out a sigh. Where on earth did he go to with his secretary?
