Chapter 20

The sound of dripping water was the only thing that I could hear. My hands were bound behind me and my eyes were covered. There was some sort of gag in my mouth. I tried to reach Lela, but there must be silver somewhere on me, as I was unable to reach her. From the smell, I could only assume that I was in some sort of cell, as the smell of dirt was overwhelming. My head was pounding and sore. I must have been hit on the back of my head when the rogues attacked in the forest.

Desperate to be able to see, I began rubbing my head along the wall. The pain in my head made it difficult, as the pressure needed to even attempt to move the blindfold sent a shooting pain through my head. The fabric got caught on a jagged edge on the wall and moved slightly. Exhaustion ran through me, but I was determined to get the blindfold off. I don't get why the rogues got so near to the pack house. They didn't go far from there.
