Chapter 52

Sam POV

Through the crowd of people finishing their breakfast, I just catch a glimpse of Erin and Leroy heading out with sombre expressions. Giving Regina a sideways look to see her business face on, meaning our working day has started a little earlier than expected, although, as the leaders of this pack, we are always on duty, I suppose. With a stretch, I get up from the table and collect our mugs to place on the trolly of dirties going around the hall and head to my office with Kay and Regina in tow.

Once in my office and behind closed doors, I ask, pulling my chair out behind my desk and dropping down into it, "come on then, what is it?"

Like the next generation, we are all extremely close. It's what happens when you've grown up together and lived so close to each other our whole lives. We know each other as well as we know ourselves if not better.

"Update from the station, Maria is out on bail," she tells us, taking a seat in front of my desk as Kay sits
