Chapter 20

After a while, Bella returns with a cup and approaches Evan, placing the cup on his table as Evan is occupied with his laptop. Bella once again stares at Evan's burned hand.

Why has he not done anything yet? She feels terrible after seeing his hand, so she goes to his office restroom and returns with the first aid kit.

Evan stares at Bella.

Bella tenderly holds his hand and applies ointment to it as Evan stares at her.

Bella says, "It was my fault, and you were punished." Bella stares at Evan, who is staring at her.

Some of Bella’s locks were in front of her face, so Evan gently placed them behind Bella’s ears while they both looked at each other. Evan grins as Bella returns to her senses.

"You are my employer, thus I have assisted you; it would be best if no one misinterpreted it because nothing will happen between us again. Mr. Evan Knight."

Evan's smile fades, and hurt can be seen in his eyes. Bella gets up and walks out from there.

Evan was engaged at work when he
