“What? Aren’t you way too early? It’s just 6 p.m.” Viviana almost yelled from the other side of the phone. Her sharp voice pierced my ears and drummed my brain. I acted out of reflex and kept the cell phone a bit away from my ears. I was afraid of my eardrums. They could explode.
