“What are you doing here, Vishal?” I ask him. “I thought I told you I would be coming to see you when my work is over. So why are you here at my workplace?”

“Tell me, why wouldn’t I be here?” Vishal asks. “I was so worried about you. I kept calling and calling, but you didn’t pick up my calls. My wolf started to panic, and I was worried as well. So I took a cab here to check what was wrong. How dare that trash eye and touch what is mine? I should have killed him.”

“You don’t have to worry yourself about him,” I say. “You know, I am strong enough to deal with him myself.”

“I don’t care if you are strong or not,” he responds. “It’s my duty to protect and care for you. I wasn’t happy when I saw him touching you. You are mine. I’m your mate.”

I blush. This is the first time I’ve seen him in a fit of rage. He fought for me and protected me— that’s all I’ve ever wanted from someone who loves me. And Vishal did that for me. I have no doubt that with him, I am protected, loved, and cared
