Chapter 39 – Intel I sigh as the shower water turns cold, knowing that my time under the warm spray is up and that I have to face reality. We agreed to an impromptu meeting with Mika, Lace, Dominic and Amberle withing three hours giving Mira, Abigail, Malichi and I enough time to clean up have a warm meal and be ready for the meeting. Having these three around with important intel on Lupus will help turn the tide of the war that I have a feeling will be leading to something bigger, something that can change the werewolf world and possibly expose us to the humans. We cannot allow that to happen. Secrecy of our people is a must in order to keep every one safe and avoid a war between the humans and the supernatural beings. “Gem Darling, are you hungry?” Ariven’s voice calls from the other side of the door. Climbing out of the shower and wrapping a fluffy towel around my body, I push open the door to the heavenly scent of pasta and garlic bread, Ariven plac
Chapter 40 – Flushing out a Disease Part 1 Ariven and I left the meeting room shortly after forming a plan to flush out Lupus and his Soulless and destroy as much of them as we can. For Rogues not yet turned Soulless, we will take them into holding cells and evaluate their mental, physical, and emotional state and help them find new packs to join or accept them into Hidden Claws, Blood Moon or Silver Crystal Cresent. Amberle even called a few Allies in Harvest Willow and Glacier to see if they could use new members once this operation is over. They both thankfully said yes and to inform them when these wolves are ready. “Why not take a nap. I will wake you a few hours before the operation so you can get ready.” My mate suggests, leading me up the stairs of the guest house to our room. I intend to dissuade this idea but a yawn cuts me off making Ariven chuckle as he climbs into bed and opens his arms wide – his way of saying come join him and cuddle. Dec
Chapter 41 – Flushing out a Disease Part 2 Hidden just inside the tree line I scan the surroundings of the Base entrance. Nothing is out of place since we escaped earlier today. Wolves run out of the entrance frantically searching most likely for Malachi and me, a fearful look on these Rogues faces worried for the consequences of not finding one of us. [Captured a Rogue and knocked them out as instructed. Handing him off to team B] Maddie states moments after a small she-wolf with deep Olive skin and dirty chocolate coloured hair rushing out of the base and towards my pack mate. [Copy. Make sure to treat that Rogue carefully until Cassandra can dream walk her mind.] Ariven responds. [Greg anything on your side?] Mika calls out. [Nope. Malachi’s friend came over though as promised. Only a few have gone out to look for Gem and Malachi while the rest are cowering in fear of Coro.] Greg is quick to answer. A s
Chapter 42 – Witch Cassandra I sit quietly in the prison under Hidden Claws’ storage shed, watching Witch Cassandra dream walk through the tenth Rogue’s mind. Her assistant takes the time with the dream link they have to write what they see while Ariven, Amberle and Ira go through the reports. Four days have passed since the attempt to bring down Coro and his Soulless soldiers. We managed to weaken his power but the war will rage on until his death. “When you told me to come here I never thought it would be to learn that Prince Coro is alive and that a war is budding.” The Priestess states with a sigh and I send and apologetic smile her way. “It could be worse. We could be barging into the Royal Pack and fight Alexander to give the throne to the rightful Queen.” Dominic chuckles out as he, Mika and Lace walk in with refreshments. I sigh, thinking about the next dilemma I will have to face soon. That sixteen-year-old Crystalline thorn wil
Chapter 43 – A Friendship Rekindled I smile as I watch the wolves of Blood Moon, Hidden Claws and my Silver Crystal Crescent mingle in the field outside of the pack house. Ariven and Dominic man the grill, the smell of burgers, steaks, sausages, and other delicious barbeque worthy meats wafting in the breeze. Amberle is doing her best to get Lace drunk by the bonfire while some wolves sneak off into the night. I chuckle, realizing we may have to shuffle the packs around if my hunch is correct and some have found their mates. “Gemmy.” A voice calls out softly and I turn to see Mika standing beside the table I sit at, a small smile on his lips, his hands holding two cans of cola. “You think I can sit and talk with you for a bit? I brought you a drink.” I chuckle, motioning for him to take the opposite seat across from me and see a relived look cross his face as he slides the cola in front of me and quickly sits before I could change my min
Chapter 44 – Lets Go Home I groan as the sunlight from the window pours in, falling across my eyes and waking me from my sleep. My body is pressed to that of my mate as the sparks and tingles remind me that I am safe in his arms and that last night was the final night we spend in the guest house. Today we can return home. Alex and Lizaria are most likely at their wits end with running a pack and I am in need of my family after this. “Keep groaning like that and I will make sure to remind you how our pup was made.” A deep voice rumbles out and I chuckle, turning to see Ariven looking at me with sleep filled eyes and a soft smile on his lips. “Sorry, the sun woke me up and I am not ready to be awake.” I mumble out, hiding my face from the sun in his chest and sighing. Another deep chuckle and strong yet gentle hands running through my hair has me slipping into sleep soon enough though. “I’ll make sure everyone is packed Dar
Chapter 45 – Family I smile down at the white curly haired angel sleeping soundly in her bassinet, wondering if I will be a good mother to my new born daughter. These last few weeks have been a blur. First, coming home to announce Ariven as my mate and making sure Alex did not do the “brotherly love” beating that Ariven would have won instantly. Then the announcement of our pup which sent the pack into even more of a celebratory frenzy. After that, we welcomed the many new pack members and began expansion of building new cabins and buildings to accommodate my growing pack with Ariven and I arguing over me helping with building considering I am pregnant. Moving into my cottage I designed the day I claimed the land as my own and slowly feeling the warmth and love I longed for inside it made me happy that I agreed to Ariven’s request. As my pregnancy progressed, many pack duties soon became irritating and this place became a sanctuary for Ariven and I to relax after a lon
Chapter 46 - Life Goes On "Destiny stop! You're going to hurt yourself." I sigh as I lift my three year old pup off from the pile of boxes that contained the rest of her play house materials. With Ariven off on patrol and Lizaria on her first vacation in thousands of years, I am left alone to build the gift Mika and Lace sent for my pup’s birthday as the two went off to help spy on Alexander for Crystalline and I. A war is brewing but today I just want to enjoy the warm weather with my pup. “Gem, do you need help?” My mother walks outside carrying a tray with lemonade and finger sand witches, placing them on the small café table with my father following behind her arms full of food ready to be grilled. “If you don’t mind, could you hold Destiny while I put this wooden playhouse together?” I ask, seeing my mother chuckle as she takes the squirmy three year old from my arms and steps back to stand beside my father. With a smile, I close m
