Chapter 26: Fighting The Rogue Alpha

“I went through the list of contestants with Cleopatra and there was not a number 580, Hercules.” Adley frowned, looking up at him.

“I was told he registered at the last minute. And since contestant number 579 didn't have an opponent, they had to make an exception for the late entry.” Hercules explained, taking his seat opposite her.

“Well, I can't help but look forward to the fight.” Adley shrugged, rubbing her chins gently, “This rogue alpha is a female.”

“You sound so enthusiastic, I'm left wondering if the concern you showed earlier was fake.” Hercules uttered, a small smile stretching across his face.

“There's nothing that can be done about her partner. Besides, you already told her she can withdraw from the tournament if she thinks she can't continue.” Adley replied, excusing her behavior.

“What can I say? You defend yourself in such a way that even I can't find fault with your words.” Hercules chuckled.

“Well, that's one of the many charms of mine you love so much.” Adley
