Chapter 21

“Wake up! Wake up!” Someone tapped me.

“What's going on?” I opened my sleepy eyes to see Mascot who looked shocked to the bone.

My eyes were still fixated on him. “What happened? Has the rain stopped?”

I asked but I got no response. Rather, he made strange movements with his eyes. I could literally see fear in his eyes.

“What is wrong?” I sat up slowly and that was when I noticed a presence behind me. I turned sharply.

“Whooo.”

“Who are you?” I asked the little boy who was simply gazing at me. I looked at Mascot who only shook his head.

“I'm supposed to be asking you two that. This is my house, so who are you?”

“My name is Naomi and he is Mascot.” I introduced us to the little boy. He wasn't so much but he was cute. “Why do you live alone here?”

“This has been my house for such a long time.” He was quick to answer. “Why are you guys here?” He asked.

I could notice how smart he was but I was scared for him.
