We kept going so we could cover a lot of distance before nightfall, I was so glad that everything had gone well with Alpha Edward and the Nightshade pack. We kept walking until we were literally exhausted. “What's our next stop?” Laura asked, literally panting like she couldn't catch her breath. I halted at the sight of her trying to lean on Damien like she was going to faint any minute from now. “I think we should put up our tent here for the night.” Damien suggested and Laura nodded. “This place is to open, I think we should find a better place.” I said, trying to point out to them how open the place was and why it wasn't safe for us to be here considering the fact that our lives are in danger. Damein had to ask us to wait so he could go check it out for himself. Laura got her water bottle and gulped down some water and then asked if I wanted some. I shook my head to deny her offer while looking away when In fact I was truly thirsty. I had been looking out for a stream
The next morning, Damein made it a duty to wake everyone up. It was going to be another long day to meet new people and talk to a new Alpha on our quest.“What do you think?”“Well, according to my map, our route leads us towards the west.”“Seems like it's only in the west that the major clans are located.” I said as we continued our journey. I didn't know why but the little discussion I had with Laura yesterday kept popping up in my mind. I was totally restless and wanted to know if there was something I would do.I wanted to know what she saw when she was in that car. I needed more information on Mascot. Why did he join Lucas? What was he going to gain from them? If truly Laura wasn't lying about going there to find out things for herself, then I need to know what she found out.“What's wrong, Naomi?” Laura asked me.I came back to reality immediately. They were some distance ahead of me because I was walking very slowly. I ran to catch up with them.“Nothing. I was only thinking.”
We couldn't sleep over at the valley since we had enough time to do that when we got back from the Moonlight pack. Damein had made us pack after we had finished picking fruits for our long journey.“We should be leaving.” He said and we agreed. I was going to have a moment with Laura but it was cut short by Damein asking us to pack up. We said our goodbye to this beautiful valley that was the best thing we've seen so far in our journey. As we walked on, we kept on trying to move fast so we could get to The Moonlight pack before dark.I looked at Damien and I could see he looked disturbed so I asked him what the matter was.“What happened?”“I think there'll be a change in weather. “ He said.“Change in weather? What do you mean?” I asked him, quite interested in what he had to say.“I think we'll have thunderstorms in no time so we need to find a shade as soon as possible.” He looked around as he said this. I was wondering and I also that Laura was wondering how he knew things like th
The Palace was lavishly designed in a very inexpensive way making it look unique and beautiful in its own way. I loved the Palace, it was small but yet very nice for a family. When we entered the throne room, we had expected to see a small Aloha on the throne since the pack on its own was so small but we were disappointed. A huge man met and greeted us.He asked us to sit down and introduced himself.“My name is Alpha Axel and I'm the Alpha of Moonlight pack. I heard you send greetings from my old friend, Magnus. How is he and his clan?” The Alpha asked, surprising us with his hospitality.I hadn't expected that a huge man like this still had it in him to be nice to his strangers but he proved me wrong. The hair on his head was gray which made him look much older than he actually is.“You're welcome. We don't accept strangers but you are an exception because you came highly recommended by my friend, Magnus.” I didn't expect anything further from this king but he went ahead to offer
Whatever Damien said got to me that even when Laura came into the room, I didn't have anything to say to her. We were all in a room separated only by different beds in different parts of the room. It was a quiet night as it seemed Damien was also upset with me since he felt I was drawing out the issue and I wasn't forgiving Laura as fast as I should. So they both whispered and laughed as they discussed. I couldn't hear them but I knew they were happy together.I didn't know if I should get angry or upset, I didn't know what I should feel but I knew I didn't want to be here. I went outside through the door but I was sure they didn't notice me as much.It was cold outside. The rain had stopped but I could still feel the cold even with my sweater on. I walked out to the balcony of the guest room where we were staying. It was time again for me to decide if I was making a huge mistake or not. I have tried to tell myself that I wasn't at fault with whatever Laura did or was feeling. She b
The next morning, we woke up looking all dazed. The weather was cold and it was very difficult to wake up but then Duty and responsibilities called and we had to answer. We had a quick preparation, just had our bath and with new clothes, we were ready to see the king and as I guessed rightly he was waiting for us in his throne room. He had this sad look on his face and all I could think of was him rejecting our offer. I felt bad that we had come to this place with so much high expectations and we were leaving so suddenly with no good news. We bowed before him and waited for him to say something but he asked us to sit. “I have thought about your proposal and knowing that it could make things tedious for me, I still choose to help you.” He said and I almost jumped up in excitement. “Alpha-king Magnus was a close friend of mine and I'm going to help him now that he needs my help.” As my heart felt elated, I could only be grateful to Alpha-king Magnus for his help. The Alpha we talk
I was the last one to wake up from the nap we had since I slept late with a lot on my mind.“You guys should have woken me, I kept you guys waiting.” I said to them when i was fully awake.“We didn't want to disturb you so we let you rest.” Damien replied, packing up. We still haven't decided where we were going and how we would get there.“Where exactly are we to find horses?” I asked, walking with my full back pack.“Well, we'll have to walk there, be ready.” Damien prepared our kind and we set out immediately. It was a tiring one but we kept going. The sun was so hot that even the canopy of the trees weren't helping in any way.The air was filled with a sweet scent and that got me going. I heard distant chatter of birds on the trees which in some weird way helped calm my nerves.“What exactly are we going?” I asked because I could feel some pain in my legs.“Well get there soon.” Damien said and I didn't believe him, I thought that he must have been saying to comfort me.Then, we g
I whispered to Damien to help me figure out what we should do.“Hey, what are you guys drinking?” Damien screamed at the men as they sat, discussed and laughed.“How is that any of your business? you need to shut up.” The leader replied.“Have you tried the juice from that red fruit over there?” Danien pointed with his nose since his hands were tired.I became nervous and anxious where I sat. I was getting scared that they would figure out what our plans were but I remained quiet and let Damien do the talking.“What's so special about the fruit?” One of the not-so-smart thieves asked and I knew immediately that he had gotten interested in what Damien was going to them.“That juice is the best one you have ever tested. The only thing you have to do is to extract the juice and drink it. I promise you that you'll thank me later.” Damien explained to them. They waited for some time before one of them went for the fruit. We watched them extract the juice and have a sip each from the cup.“
