“You startled me”, she said eyeing the gorgeous man in her view.
“I didn’t mean to”, he said as he turned around and sat next to her on the plush soft loveseat. “But you did”, Arya said. “I know, Arya”, he replied back. “It’s so unfair you know my name and I don’t know yours”, Arya said, sad that she wasn’t even given the courtesy of knowing her betrothed name. “If it means that much to you then my name is Leonardo”, he replied. She studied his look. He had a bad boy look with his rugged beard and grey piercing eyes, but there was a hint of vulnerability in his gaze. His broad shoulders seemed to carry the weight of the world, and Arya couldn't help but be intrigued by this mysterious man named Leonardo. “You want one?”, he asked her as he gave her a pack of cigarettes, offering her one. “I don’t smoke”, she replied him. Leonardo withdrew his pack of cigarettes and gave it to one of the waiters passing by. “Okay. I don’t like women who smoke cigarettes in the first place”, he replied nonchalantly. “Then why did you give it to me?”, Arya asked with a mix of curiosity and slight annoyance. Leonardo looked at her, a small smirk forming on his lips. “I wanted to see if you could be pressured”, he asked her. Arya crossed her arms and smirked back at him. "Well, you clearly underestimated me," she replied calmly. “I wonder what kind of woman you are. I can’t quite read you, but I’ll find out in due time, wife”, Leonardo said. “Did you agree to this marriage?”, Arya asked. “Don’t ask too many questions now, baby”, Leonardo said. “I’m not baby, I’m Arya”, she said softly. “Okay……baby”, Leonardo said, clearly taunting her. “At least you’re not ugly, on the outside……..yet”, Arya said to him, squinting slightly. “Yet? Are you threatening me wife?”, he asked, irritated. Arya was taken aback by his sudden reaction. “No, I meant you’re not ugly on the outside unless you’re ugly on the inside. So if you’re a bad man, automatically you’re an ugly man”, Arya said trying to soothe him. She shuddered at what her father would do if she annoys her betrothed. Leonardo laughed. “Look at you, how can you even threaten a bunny? I was pulling your legs”, he said, chuckling at Arya’s behavior. “You’re beginning to get ugly. It’s not cool to tease people”, she said. “Come on Arya, I run many cartels and mingle with bad people everyday. No one dares question me when I speak. I’m not just a bad man, I’m dangerous”, Leonardo said as he turned to her. “Is that suppose to scare me?”, she asked. “It should”, he answered with a bored expression. “I’m sorry, it didn’t”, she taunted. Leonardo leaned closer to her. He was close to her that he could see her lashes very clearly and they were dark and luscious, just like her hair. Arya’s breath hitched as Leonardo leaned very close to her, she flinched and his expression changed. “Why did you flinch?”, he asked her, upset. “I thought you were going to hit me”, she said, trying to steady her breath. “Why would I hit you?”, he asked. “You tell me”, she answered. “You know, you got guts. I like that!”, he said and moved away from her. Her scent was overwhelming up close and he was getting ideas. She smelt like roses and vanilla. Arya sat up straight and her eyes strayed into the crowd and she saw Carls watching her. She got nervous and started to play with her fingers. “Why are you doing that? It’s awfully disturbing to watch you do that”, Leonardo said, bringing her out of her thoughts. “Then don’t watch”, she snapped back. Leonardo raised an eyebrow and she sighed. “I’m sorry for snapping”, she said. Leonardo looked at her father and looked back at her. He immediately understood that there was something more going on. The engagement ceremony went on smoothly and it was time to exchange rings. Two maids stood by Arya and Leonardo’s side each holding a gold tray containing ring boxes. Leonardo took the ring on his side from the tray and signaled Arya to give him her hands. Arya looked into the crowds and wondered if there was a way around this. No one would help her out and she knew this. Hesitantly, she placed her hands on Leonardo’s and he slipped the ring on slowly, maintaining eye contact. The guests cheered and clapped and Arya slipped the ring on Leonardo’s finger. They stood close to each other as the cameras around them started clicking. “And by the way, I’d never hit a woman, at least not one as delicate and exquisite like you”, Leonardo whispered in Arya’s ears. Arya felt a shiver down her spine as Leonardo's whispered words sent a chill through her body and left a budding sensation in her tummy. Soon, the celebration came to an end and guest started leaving the hall. Arya walked up to her family and her mother, Camille, enveloped her in a hug. “Let’s go home sister. You need to rest”, Antonio said to her and Dante held her hands. “You seem to be getting comfortable around your husband to be”, Carls said to Arya. “At least he is not a monster that hits women like you do”, Arya said, forgetting for a moment she was talking to her demon father. “What the fuck did you say?” Carls asked and held her arms tightly, so tightly that she started to bleed. “You think you can speak to me in that manner because your fiancé is a big shot, huh?”, Carls asked angrily. “Let go of her father!”, Antonio and Dante said simultaneously. Carls glared at the two brothers, his grip tightening on Arya's arms. Antonio's rage began to boil as he watched Carls harm his beloved sister. “Let go of her Carls, she’s in pain and this is no place for this”, Camille said to her husband. “I think you should listen to your wife”, a voice said calmly. Carls turned to the direction of the voice and his eyes widened.Carls reluctantly released Arya's arms, his expression contorting with a mixture of anger and frustration. “So this is why she was nervous earlier?”, Leonardo asked no one in particular. “You don’t understand. You know these things, women should always be put in their place”, Carls said to him. His family saw him scared for the first time in their entire lives. Leonardo scoffed. "Put in their place?” he sneered, raising an eyebrow. "Carlos, you're playing with fire. But this...this goes beyond our usual dealings. Don’t lay your hands on my woman ever again”, he spat. People hurriedly left the environment before Leonardo looses it. He is very popular for his temper and ruthlessness. Nobody wanted to get caught up in the crossfire between two powerful mafia families although Leonardo is more powerful. “Your woman? You can’t just say you love after just meeting her once”, Carls asked and said like Leonardo was ridiculous. “It is none of your business. She’s getting marr
“You look gorgeous, miss”, Rosa said to Arya as she studied her look. Arya looked at her reflection in the mirror and turned towards Rosa. She gave her a hug. “You dress me up so well, Rosa”, Arya said. She was dressed in a simple sleeveless yellow dinner dress. “I fear I must mistress. In this house, it’s a rule to dress presentable to the dining hall”, Rosa said. Arya scoffed. Of course, she already knew. It’s mandatory to dress well to the dining hall in ever mafia home. Rosa led Arya downstairs to the dining hall. Arya looked around in awe. Sure her family was wealthy, but it’s nothing compared to Leonardo’s wealth and it was obvious. The dining hall looked elegant and expensive. Alfredo and Amelia were already sitting at the dining hall. “Here comes our darling new daughter”, Alfredo said. Amelia stood up and walked up to Arya, she held her in a motherly hug and they both sat down. Arya was glad that her husband’s parents were nice people. “*Buonasera*”, she gre
“Let me go! We just had sex, nothing more”, a brunette girl tied to a chair said. She had blood all over her from the beating she had received earlier. “Well that’s the problem! I warned you to stay away from my Leonardo didn’t I?”, a blonde woman said to her. “But he ordered me. I couldn’t refuse the Don. We’re all his mistresses and he calls on us when he deems fit”, the brunette said. Maria, the blonde, slapped her and she coughed out blood. “You won’t stay away so there is only one thing to do”, Maria said, menacingly. “Maria listen to me”, the brunette said desperately and continued, “I am not the enemy here. Don is getting married and if you want him that bad then ruin his plans. You’re wasting your time by killing me, I am not a threat”. “Oh, poor Emma. I know what I must do, I do not need you to tell me. By the way, nobody is a threat to me”, Maria said as she pulled the trigger. The sound of a single gunshot echoed through the room. “N
“Seems like you forgot our marriage was arranged by our families”, Leonardo replied unfazed. “I know. You initiated the proposal, didn’t you?”, Arya asked with furrowed brows. “Frowning will age you quickly, amoree”, Leonardo said as flicked her forehead. “Then answer me quickly”, Arya retorted, slapping his hand away. Leonardo let out a sigh and started walking again. He wondered how Arya could slap the hand of the Don while she tailed behind him. “Leonardo”, Arya called him softly making him come to an halt. “Fine. I didn’t arrange our marriage”, Leonardo replied as he turned to face her. “But Bianca….”, Arya trailed off. “Bianca is mischievous. By the way, women shouldn’t be getting involved with mafia politics”, Leonardo said and he saw a flicker in her eyes. “What do you mean by that? I thought you respected women”, Arya asked sarcastically. Leonardo raised an eyebrow at her question and statement. Arya was nothing like the stories he had
“Why should I wear a black wedding dress? I don’t want that”, Arya whined. She just had her skin care routine done, had pins in various places on her hair and is presently standing in her walk-in closet, soaking in the horror of wearing a dark wedding dress. “I’m sorry ma’m. Don picked out the dress himself and I dare not go against him”, Rosa, her maid said politely. ‘Oh, he picked my wedding dress, how convenient’, Arya thought to herself. “Where is my seamstress”, she asked Rosa after a while. “She’s right outside the door, would you like to make any amend”, Rosa asked. ‘Amend, funny’, Arya laughed in her head. “I want her and her entire team here right now. Get them whatever they need to make a new wedding dress”, Arya said in a tone that left no room for argument. Rosa looked like she had seen a ghost. “It’s just five hours till the wedding. Don would….” “Don won’t do anything about it. A girl only experience this once. I’m getting married
Leonardo looked at Arya like she had horns. Not only did she wear a different color but she also went against him purposely. “Give me one reason I shouldn’t send you back to change”, he asked more annoyed at the fact that the dress was doing something to him. Arya was wearing a red body con-ish silk dress with lace embroidery. It was an exquisite wedding dress, characterized by its intricate detailing and elegant design. The gown features a breathtaking long red veil that adds a touch of grace and sophistication to the bridal attire. The dress is adorned with embellishments that highlight its luxurious texture, with lace elements that contribute to its delicate and romantic appeal. The color, red, eluded sensuality and it clung to her curves provocatively. The contrast of her bright red dress with the black and grey theme made her stand out. “The dress you picked out isn’t for me. It looked outdated. You have good taste in fashion for yourself but not for me”, Arya replied
Arya and Leonardo were on their way to the villa in the newly wedded couple’s car. The silence between them was getting louder and louder each second. “Mrs. Marcello”, Leonardo said with a smirk. Arya rolled her eyes and continued to stare out the window. “You know we have to share a bedroom now. The families are expecting an heir soon”, he added. Arya could feel the blood going to her cheeks as it turned bright red. She was utterly flustered and she prayed Leonardo didn’t notice, but oh, he did. Nothing gets past him. “I wonder what you’re thinking about, your cheeks are very red. Like your dress”, he said. Her hair was tied in an up do. “Don’t you know when you’re being ignored?”, she asked. “I do but I don’t care”, he responded. “Leave me alone”, she said. “You know I can’t, I have to give the families an heir. Get over here”, he said as he pulled her to him. She gasped. In one move the Don ha
“What the fuck?”, Bianca said. “I am here for the wedding reception. Leonardo invited me personally”, Maria said holding up her invitation. Bianca reached out to take it but Maria held it back. During this conversation, Fin had managed to excuse himself. “Don’t get smart. I have my eyes on you and sure, once I get the chance, I’d confirm with Leonardo”, Bianca said and she walked away. Maria rolled her eyes. ‘I better get to action’, she thought. ********************************** After Leonardo gave her the anklet, he walked to a corner to talk to Rob. Their conversation seemed pretty heated. She watched Leonardo expression turn dark and she knew it was work related, which of course meant that someone was going to die. Their eyes met and he walked towards her. “I’m sorry kitten. Would you give me a second?”, he asked, his gaze softening for her. “Who’s going to die now?”, she asked sarcastically. “Don’t you worry about it. I’ll be back in a few minutes”, h
