Chapter 16 - Read Me To Sleep (Part 2)

- "Suddenly, she saw: lying on the bed, making a much bigger bulge under the sheets than she ever remembered seeing her grandmother's frail body make, was an apparently sleeping figure, snoring softly as the fabric filled with ruffles rose and fell. With a fond smile, Lynn hurried to her grandmother's bed, feeling sorry for the poor thing. That autumn had been unnaturally cold, but the night before had been especially chilly, especially for an old lady with a cold. the bedside table the basket full of breads, cheeses and jams that she had prepared earlier that day, Lynn gently put her hand on the place where her grandmother's shoulder was, wanting to wake her, while listening to the sound of someone breathing deeply. However, instead of finding the fragile softness of her grandmother's thin arm, she found something rigid and muscular. Startled, she was ready to scream, when a sweet but extremely hoarse, almost male voice interrupted her.
