Thank you for your patience. The technical issues seems to have been rectified now. Once again I am sorry to delayed chapter updates for you.
Magic is an unfair advantage. “Get out of here!” Rory unleashes his aura onto the girl. She can’t be much older than me, yet she seemed younger. Small in the bones, lack of food, she hasn’t had a good life. “Rory!” I growl at him from stopping me from attacking her. “Please Aida, not her!” His face holds a plea, a plea that I understand. She may run now, but she’ll be back. She was the destined Luna of the Mulder wolf pack! She whimpers under Rory’s command, her neck finally submitting…the mate bond overpowering the mind control spell. “What’s your name?” Rory gently takes a step towards her but she flinches from his touch. I could see bruising along her arm, marks that were taking too long to heal, again from her being underfed. She flashes her teeth to Rory and makes a hissing noise, her lack of communication skills was startling. “Rory…” I place my hand on his arm, to stop his approach towards her. “Look! Look at her neck.” I say through the mind-link. On her neck was a re
Aim to kill. “You two, here now!” He orders at two large men that must be a lower rank in the craft community because they were some of the ones aiming the fire-balls but couldn’t seem to master their own skill. “Hold her!” He orders and I am ripped from his hold and my hands held behind my back. I won’t be swallowing that pill. I throw my head back into on of the warlock’s nose which breaks it instantly. He automatically releases my hands to clutch his bleeding nostrils giving me the opportunity to take the other bastard down. I kick him in the nuts which forces him to bend down to grab his family jewels. I use his lowered head to kick his face upwards at his chin. If I haven’t broken his neck it will be a miracle. I pick up speed, running towards Lance who had been placed back into a fight with the remaining rebels. “Keep running, don’t stop. I’ll hold them off!” Lance orders at me through the mind-link as I am determined to reach the alpha house. “Argh…” I scream, no longer
A Sister’s anger. As the dagger flies through the air and is on target to hit Fiona in the heart, Flint manages to push Fiona out of the way, the dagger missing her heart but still plunges into her chest. She collapses to the floor from the impact of my dagger hit and the brunt force of Flint pushing her out the way. “Impossible!” He shouts at me, his jaw tensing. “How?” Fiona gasps, looking up at Fern as she painfully pulls the knife out of her chest. If that dagger was strong enough to kill a Lycan King, I had a feeling it would cause her long term damage. Thank the goddess for the little wins. “Did you know?” She seethes at her sister. “No.” Fern replies before she realises she has to act fast. “You think I would want her alive?” Fern’s eyes turn to me and she throws her arms out at force casting a spell. It hits me like a punch to the stomach and I am thrown backwards. Lance manages to catch me before I hit the ground. He keeps me in his strong sexy arms, cradling me safely
The aftermath. Dread fired my vessel, as if my mind was too scared to remain attached to my body. My chest was aching from the soul destroying realisation “Aida? Aida, what’s wrong?” Lance races to me, all colour feels like it has dropped from my face. “Fern…she’s dead!”“She protected you…he would have killed you!” “She bound herself to Lex and Leona….” I started to run, not even realising I was still naked. I had to get to our children, to make sure they were okay. The same fear hits me through the mate bond from Lance. “I can’t get hold of Mother through the link…” Lance growls in my head as he overtakes me, as does Mav, Brennan and Axel. Hong, Tate, Rory and Henri are on my tail, faster runners than me but I had a heads start. I run all the way to the alpha house. I couldn’t feel my legs anymore, they had turned to jelly. But I kept pushing myself. I run through the already burst open front door and up the stairs to the guest rooms we had been allocated. I can hear the cri
A protective mateRory left the Saunders pack immediately, he didn’t even say goodbye which hurt slightly. We had just been through a battle with witches together and he was giving me the blank treatment. I know it wasn’t aimed at me, that he was battling his own issues regarding his mate…but I had hoped he would know he could come to me for help. Lance was keen to return to the Santos pack immediately. To check on the security and also call an emergency meeting with the reformed witches council. If they had exiled Fiona and Flint…what did that mean exactly? Would they still be trying to find them, to make them accountable for their crimes or as long as they stayed away they would get a chance of a clean slate. That didn’t seem fair somehow and I would fight for us to hunt them down. “What was that about with Rory?” Lance asks me from the front of the car. I was sat in the middle of both Lex and Leona, who were presently safely secured in their car seats while Lance sat in front w
Talking in riddles. Our playtime in the cloak room was not unnoticed by Mav, who had a wide smirk on his face when we walked into the sitting room. Everyone was here, even Giovanni and Lorrel, and Lance’s cousins. “Hair is a bit messy Aida.” Mav teased as I cradled both babies in my arms, placing a kiss on their foreheads and inhaling their scents. “Really?” I try to hide my blushing cheeks. Complete embarrassment washing over me from realising he would have walked past the cloak room when entering the front door. “Hhmm!” He chuckles as Colette elbows him in the side, giving him a “stop teasing” glare. “How did it go?” Blake’s asks as Trey sits next to her on the sofa. “They are definitely hiding something…whatever caused the civil war in the first place.” “And we will find out. Just let the dust settle first angel.” Lance walks behind the sofa and plants a kiss on my head. “I need a security debrief, I won’t be long. Tucker is already waiting.” He says as he starts to head to
Just when you think life can be normal again. “She bound herself to the twins.” I mind-link him, we already knew this. “No Aida, this is worse.” His concerned response through the mind-link has me struggling to keep my breathing steady. “What have you done?” He seethes at her as he cuts the mind-link with me. His hands were clenching by his side and his arms were starting to sprout fur. His wolf wanted blood, witch blood. Technically she was dead…no one would know…“I needed to elongate my life to protect them…” “Break it, break the bond.” He commands, releasing his aura onto her and I see her wince from the pain. She was weak, the wound was killing her. “I can’t, not now. I need to stay alive. She’ll be back.”“Why? Tell us what’s happened Fern, why did the witches go to war?” I push, what weren’t they telling us? Why was this shroud of secrecy about. “I can’t…not yet. It could affect things later on. They think I am dead, it needs to stay that way.” She shakes her head as she
A forever friendship. Three weeks have passed and the dust was starting to settle. The Saunders pack had lost a lot of warriors and we have been providing lycan muscle to help protect their borders while they train pack members in case another attack occurred. However, you could be the best trained warrior yet a fight against witchcraft would completely reduce your chances of survival. This brought a new fire to my belly in ensuring the safety of the shifter community’s future. The Santos Lycan training programme was actually over subscribed and fully booked for the next two years. Alpha’s were keen to ensure their warriors were trained at the highest level. I think it also helped that they had pledged to me and knew I wouldn’t let anything untoward happen to their male and female fighters whilst on Royal Lycan land. Rafe had completed his training and I was sad to see him go. I missed seeing him around the training base. Alpha Ray and Luna Rennie came to his graduation, even Rowan
