Once I was inside the room with Maddie, I lost myself and swept everything on top of the desk with my arms. The sight of Maddie’s face boiled my blood. My eyes were completely locked on her, and Maddie seemed intimidated as she took a step away from me. But I also took a step forward, chasing her.

“Did you even realize what you did? You embarrassed me in front of the Ironwolf! You made me look like a fool in front of everybody!” I yelled, pointing my finger straight at Maddie's eyes. She looked terrified, stuttering as she tried to explain.

“Don’t yell at me! It’s Ari’s fault! She’s the one you need to punish, not me!”

I scoffed, running my hands through my hair. I felt stuck between yelling or just giving up the conversation because it seemed pointless. Maddie’s attitude was beyond terrible.

“You are the worst,” I muttered, watching as Maddie's fear vanished from her eyes. Instead, they grew with indignation. Her eyebrows furrowed, and her jaw clenched.
