THOMAS’ FIRST PERSON POINT OF VIEW

Two men kicked opened the door. I could not see their faces but I could make out their silhouette perfectly thanks to the reflection from the window.

“Are you awake now?” He said to me. I responded with some muffled sounds as the gag in my mouth would not let me talk properly.

As if they had seen my struggle, one of them bent down to remove the gag in my mouth then rose on his feet and flung it across the room. The other man pressed a switch and the lights came on. I squinted my face in reaction to the lights as my eyes were already accustomed to the initial darkness.

“Who are you people? What do you want?” I asked in a weak voice. I could not believe the voice that had just spoken was my voice. I tried to cough whatever was obstructing my lungs but nothing came out but a weak and short force of air. I swallowed in resignation.

“Here, speak with your grandfather and tell him to come you at this location.” He said putting in my face similar piece of
