“Sure, I’ll do it.”

Heather readily agreed to the matter, but she had already concealed the waves of pain fluctuating inside her heart.

Daniel raised his eyebrows, his eyes filled with disbelief. “You’ll do it?”

“Yes, I’ll do it. However, I have a condition of my own.”

“What is it?”

Heather looked straight into Daniel’s eyes and said, “I want to see Jeremi after this is all over.”

Heather knew that she would be dreaming if she thought she could take her son away, so she needed to grab hold of every single opportunity she could meet Jeremi.

Daniel unknowingly clenched his palms, which he had hidden in his pockets. A moment later, he nodded. “Okay.”

Heather did not want to speak to Daniel for a moment longer, so she immediately left upon receiving the latter’s confirmation.

Daniel stared at her back, his eyes seemingly in pain.

‘She’s hiding from me as if I’m the plague.’

Daniel mockingly laughed at himself, his expression undeniably bitter.
