Awake

"And what if we don't? What will you do?" The younger armed guard standing behind Jennifer's uncle asked.

"Only those who are ignorant of who I am ask this kind of question. I will pardon you but one more words from you will be your direct ticket to hell." His words are cold and authoritative.

The young guard tried to move and Jennifer's Uncle stopped him. He knew it won't end well for them if they try to attack.

"I know who you are. What do you want? I will do anything you want." Jennifer's uncle pleaded with fear. He knew he was in big trouble. He can loose his life in seconds at that moment. He knew that the only way to escape the nightmare in front of him was to obey everything single words from his mouth.

"I saw everything. I don't need any explanation. You deserve to die but I'm not going to kill you. All I want is her. You don't have to waste her. She will be very useful for me. Hand her over to me and no life will be lost." Mike said.

"Take her to him." Jennifer's Uncle instructed without hesitation. Jack and the other guard carried her and hand her unconscious body to him. He carried her and turned to leave but stopped, then twirled his head towards Jenifer's Uncle. His heart skipped. His mind began to race. "What did he want again?" He was mumbling under his breath.

"I think I need to make this official." Mike said. "I'm going to buy her from you. I will send you a document to sign which you must sign if your life is still important to you."

Jennifer's Uncle nodded with a trace of smile on his face. Mike noticed and chuckled. He knew he was getting excited because of the money he will get from selling Jennifer to him.

"Don't get too excited yet. Though I have billions of dollars, but the person I will send with the documents is coming with 20 dollars. You don't even deserve a single dollar. And let me warn you. Don't waste his time when he comes." He said and walked out.

Jennifer's Uncle was disappointed. He wasn't expecting that. He thought he would offer him millions of dollars. He was annoyed but he have no option than to obey.

He carried her to his car and drove straight to his house. Emilia, his house keeper, who is also his cook, was surprised to see Mike, carrying a girl that looked lifeless.

She followed him to one of the visitors room where he laid her on the bed. The room was cool, well furnished and clean even though no one had made use of it since he build the house.

"Sir, who is she? What happened to her?" She asked.

"And what will you do with the information if I tell you?" He asked.

"Sorry sir, I'm just concerned." She replied.

"Get my phone in my car." He said.

"Okay sir." Emilia replied and left. Mike stared at unconscious Jennifer and trailed his eyes from her feet to her head. He took some moments, looking at her beautiful innocent face. She looked more beautiful and calm. She was looking as if she was sleeping.

A moment later, Emilia walked in and handed his phone to him. He scrolled through his contact immediately and called Donald, his doctor.

"I need your service in my house right now. I have an unconscious lady, caused as a result of strangulation in my house. I need your presence as quick as possible." He demanded just as the doctor picked up, then hanged up without waiting to hear the doctor's response.

Not up to five minutes, Donald arrived. He checked her body and gave her a couple of injections.

"If you had resuscitated her at the moment of the incidence, she would have recovered. But not to worry, she will wake up in less than thirty minutes. If she complain of any pain after, especially around her neck, you can let me know. Remember, she will need some rest after recovery."

"It's alright." Mike replied.

"I was busy when you call. I have to get back now." Donald said and left.

"Emilia." Mike called.

"Sir."

"I want you to take good care of her. You heard what the doctor said. She needs some rest. When she wakes up, don't tell her where where is. Get her what ever she want but don't allow her to leave the room. I will get back to her tomorrow." Donald finished and left to prepare the document which he will send to Jennifer's Uncle. Emilia stayed for a while before she left to prepare something in the kitchen.

Not up to twenty minutes, Jennifer woke up and tried to recover from the blindness that took some ample of seconds to recuperate from. She slowly opened her eyes and thought she was in heaven. The room was spackling white and all the light was brightly radiating the small room.

"Where am I?" She asked herself. She tried to get up and let out a faint moan as she felt some pains around her neck. Her mind flashed back to the last thing that happened to her before she passed out. She could remember her uncle strangling her to death. She could remember how her soul was leaving her body but where she was at that moment was what she couldn't tell.

"Am I dead? Where am I?" She kept scanning the room. Every single thing inside the room was white. She have never seen a room as beautiful and well finished as the room.

As she was about to sit up, Emilia entered. She had heard her faint moan and was coming to check up on her.

"You have woken up already." Emilia said, wiping her wet hand on her apron. She saw she was about to get up and pressed her shoulder down. "You need some rest."

She slowly laid back on the bed, still confused on where she was. Though she was a little bit revived that she was still alive.

"Please, who are you and where is this place? Where am I?" She asked.

"Well, my name is Emilia. I cook and takes care of the house." Emilia answered with a smile.

"Where am I and how did I get here?" Jennifer asked.

"I don't think you should be worried of where you are. Just know that you are in a save place where you will be taking care of. You don't have to be worried. My boss carried you in not long ego and instructed me to take care of you when you wake up." Emilia explained.

"Your boss brought me here?" Jennifer asked.

"Yes. You were unconscious when he brought you in." Emilia answered.

"Who is your boss?" Jennifer asked.

"I don't think I'm in a position to tell you who he is. I'm working here according to his instructions. He only instructed me to take care of you. I found it necessary to tell you how you got here but I can't tell you who he is. You will know better when he comes back." Emilia said.

"He's not around? I need to see him. Where is he?" Jennifer asked.

"You asked too many questions. You need to rest. You will see him when he comes back." Emilia replied. "Is there anything you want? Water? Food? You will take your bath but not now."

"Just give me water." Jennifer replied and she brought a bottle of chilled water for her. She helped her to sit up so she could rest her back on the headboard to drink water.

"I'm busy in the kitchen. I will come back once I'm done to check up on you." Emilia said and left, leaving Jennifer in confusion.
