“Your vitals are okay and you are responding well to the treatments given so hopefully, you will heal faster than anticipated,”

The doctor went on. Nora watched him jot something down, she knew she had to say something because once he leaves now, he would not be back until later and she would be stuck with the nurses who do not say anything to her and just go about their job.

“How. Did. I. Get. Here?”

Nora finally managed to ask, but her voice sounded dry and foreign even to her ears, she waited for the doctor to respond but he didn’t even acknowledge her words, she concluded that her voice must have been so low that he couldn’t hear her so she decided she wasn’t going to try and talk to him anymore, now that she could talk again, she would train her voice so that when he returns later, she can finally ask him the questions that were burning in her head to be asked. She lay there in silence and the doctor finally left. As soon as he did, Nora tried to move her hands again on her own
