CHAPTER VI

CLYDE

Clyde couldn’t help but shake his head at Samantha’s reaction. It was priceless. The first thought that came to his mind when he saw her emerged into that living room is, Jesus Christ! She’s a Goddess. There she was, looking shocked and confused and beautiful. Her hair was tussled like she did not even bother combing it, looked perfect with all that curls at the bottom. Her glorious body, that he can perfectly see beneath that thin shirt she got on was like begging and waiting for his touch. Her parted lips, tiny pointed nose and her green pair of eyes matched with all those thick lashes, just perfect. He actually wondered how he was able to control himself not to take her right there and then. But she’s right. He’s here for his son. The goal is to be known by his son as his father. As for Samantha, it can wait. We’re having it your way, Samantha. For now.

He went to the living room and find his son playing with the same toys. “C’mon, buddy. Let’s wait for your mom in the dinning room,” he said and the boy immediately got up.

The room was simple but cozy. Again, as expected of Samantha’s. There is an oven just below the electric stove. The sink serves and what he assumes as the process area serves as the divider between the stove and the dining table, which is by the way, a four-seater.

He helped his son get on with the chair. He sat beside him. “So, what does your mommy does?” he asked him.

“She’s a chef. And she cooks really good,” Tam answered him. It looks like he is really proud of his mom.

“Really? What are your favorite dishes?”

“I love everything that mommy cooks. But I like her cakes the most. She bakes the tastiest cake in the universe,” he answered wittily.

“Would you let me taste it, then? If ever she cooked one?”

“Sure. But if you want, you can just go to the café. She cooks everything in there.”

“I’ll make sure to go there one of these days,” he said with a smile.

Samantha chose to show herself at that moment. He studied her briefly. She is now wearing a green shirt and a pair of shorts that reached her knees.

“You took your time,” he commented.

“Yeah. I didn’t want to leave even a slightest detail,” she answered sarcastically.

                They started eating.

“God, woman, this coffee is to die for,” Clyde commented as he took a sip of it.

His son’s lips grew into a smile. “I told you,” he said. “Wait till you got a taste of the pancakes,” he suggested.
