Chapter Twenty Six

Avery barely said a word as he carried Roxie into the packhouse. Roxie could feel the anger pouring off of his body. He gently sat Roxie down on the counter in their bathroom. He grabbed a clean cloth from the closet and ran warm water in the sink. He rang the wet cloth out and cleaned up the blood off of Roxie's ankle. He looked relieved, when he noticed the bleeding had stopped. It seemed that Vera's healing abilities had kicked in and started sinching up the wound. He slung open the curtain for the shower and plugged the bathtub and started running water for a bath. It was only then that he turned around and looked towards Roxie. "I'm sorry that this happened to you. I won't allow someone under my command to harm my mate." He said and pulled Roxie off of the counter. Roxie could do little but allow him to strip off her clothes. He helped her into the tub of water and leaned down to kiss her forehead. "Relax and feel better. I'm going to go handle business."
