Benton knew that she was becoming more drained by the moment. She and a few times, and she even stretched her back in a way he hadn't seen her do before. Just sitting there for any period of time was putting pressure on her spine that she hadn't had there in a while. Her body was still recuperating even a few weeks after the fact from not only the fall but the walk. She was in good shape probably beforehand, but she had lost muscle mass because she had not eaten anything for quite a while. She was also learning about new foods because she couldn't remember anything that she liked.
Benton took out the box that he had in his pocket in the jacket that he was wearing, and he handed it over to her, and she looked at it like she had no idea what to do with it. “This is your present, Kelly. You can open the box.”

The next day the guards who had been called off showed show back up. They started to take their place at the door, and they just watched Kelly. There was something in their eyes that even the doctors and nurses couldn’t explain, and neither could Kelly. They were angry. Benton showed her around the room as she looked from the spot she had stopped in. she hadn’t said a word as she looked at everything with huge eyes. She had no concept of some of the things that were there. “Kelly?” he asked as he saw that she hadn’t moved. “Is everything okay?” “Fine.” She said as she looked at him and his grey eyes. This was one of the few times it seemed she had seen him without the special glasses he wore most of the time. Today it was his entire face. She then really looked him over as he stood there, slightly confused by her response. He was taller and more well built than he seemed in the medical bay. Kelly did as he asked and looked around for a bit and told him that the rooms were fine and they didn’t need anything else in them. Benton knew there was more coming, but he didn’t say anything to her about that. She went back to the couch and started to play the game again. He went to the lab for a few hours, and when he came back, he found her nearly in tears on the couch. He walked quickly to her. “What? What happened?” he asked softly as he sat down next to her. “I don’t understand this.” She said as she looked at him with tears in her eyes. They were clouding the normal brightness that was there. As the rest of the day passed on and the light began to fade from the large windows, he watched Kelly continue to play on her phone. He had moved a few times as there was a lot of empty space in the open room. This part of the compound was the one that had the views on the outside of the mountain. The large rectangle structure that was braced up into the mountain had one side of nothing but glass and windows that were reinforced. He was sitting by them at his desk where he had nothing on it. The glasses that he wore most of the time allowed him to have almost a complete virtual setup for his computers. He was trying to figure out how to make them available to the outside world as well. Kelly looked around the darkened space. It was clean and perfect to describe his personality. Uncluttered and almost empty. He turned on the light, and she then saw why it was so dark. He had curtains on the long windows that were black and blocked out any light from outside. She knew that her room also had curtains, but they were not like this. He watched her as she looked around. He had a sofa that was made for two people in the middle of the open room. He went over, and the tv lowered from the ceiling. She watched as it did. She was exhausted. Her head hurt in a way it had never hurt before. She closed her eyes, and she could see everything in front of her. Every memory was fighting with another to get there to the front of her mind. It was like fighting with herself in a way that she had never done before.
