06. The Period After Heat

Tristan just woke up after Ananas gave him sleeping pills last night. If it wasn't for Ananas, maybe even now Tristan wouldn't have been able to sleep because his heart is a bit longer than he expected.

After the incident with Adelia Dauntless, Tristan's heat got worse, making him even more unable to control himself. He almost injured the maids at his house several times because of it. Even since that day, Tristan hadn't eaten anything at all, he was accidentally locked up by Ananas when he was caught nearly killing a servant delivering food for him.

If you count it, maybe it's been fourteen days since he was locked in the room by Ananas without food and drink. Only injections and special drugs called suppressants were given to him to calm himself from the heat.

Tristan tried to get up because he had successfully spent fourteen days and even lived without a partner. He walked towards the window and opened it. Down there, he saw some gardeners cleaning the yard and tidying up the trees so the leaves and branches would grow smoothly.

Seeing the gardeners, Tristan immediately waved, hoping that one of them would see him standing on the balcony and then come up to him in the room.

After waving and calling several times, finally, a gardener ran in as if he knew what Tristan wanted, and shortly after, someone unlocked the door. From outside, then came inside; it was Delaltrik Zeyek.

Delaltrik Zeyek was the butler of this house and the one responsible for Tristan during Ananas' was not there. However, when he entered the room, Delaltrik didn't say anything at all, he just stared at Tristan without speaking or asking how the young man was. And Delaltrik's reason was that he was afraid that if Tristan couldn't control himself, he might still be in a heat cycle.

Tristan realized Delaltrik's fright, so he just snorted while scratching the back of his head. "My heat cycle is complete. I'm not going to kill anyone now." Tristan said.

Hearing Tristan's answer, Delaltrik could breathe a sigh of relief because, even though they were both wolves, the difference between him being a Gamma. Of Tristan, who is a pure-blood Alpha. Of course, Delaltrik won't be able to face Tristan.

"Do you need anything? Maybe I can bring some, like some food?" Delaltrik offered. Because even though it's in heat, a person, of course, needs food. But in Tristan's case, they didn't allow anyone to bring food to Tristan, and it was all on orders from Ananas.

"I want a glass of water."

"You broke the teapot yesterday."

"Come on, you think I'm going to break that thing again?"

"If you're sane, maybe I am not," Delaltrik said, mocking Tristan a little, and it annoyed Alpha.

"Then don't make me angry, bring me a glass of water, and where is Ananas?"

"Mrs. Ananas is going to the hospital. She said if she has to take care of something, she has an important meeting next week, so Mrs. Ananas will be much busier than usual," Delaltrik explains.

"Should I go there?"

"Mrs. Ananas didn't order anything, she just asked me to lock you in your room and not let anyone in." Delaltrik quotes back the order Ananas gave him.

Delaltrik keeps an eye on Tristan. Even though he couldn't find any signs of heat in Tristan, he still didn't want his prediction to be wrong regarding Tristan, and instead, he was attacked by the young wolf.

"Then when is he coming back?" Tristan's question surprised Delaltrik a little.

"Is there anything you'd like to ask her?"

"How are things going with the Dauntless family?"

Delaltrik shook his head. "No progress whatsoever, Mrs. Ananas is still using your heat phase as an excuse, and it doesn't look like this will apply from today."

Tristan took a shirt from inside the wardrobe, threw his dirty clothes into the corner of the room, then put on a new one before he decided to sit on a chair that was in the corner of the room while keeping his eyes on Delaltrik, who was still standing not far from the door.

"I'm going to meet the Dauntless and explain everything."

"No, you didn't have to do that. If you do that, then Miss Ananas will fire me." Delaltrik said, sounding like a joke, but after that, he turned around to leave Tristan's room. "I'll bring some food, so please don't go anywhere before I return." Delaltrik said and left Tristan's room.

After being left by Delaltrik, Tristan saw the whole room, which was very chaotic. As Delaltrik had said, a glass teapot and several glasses shattered on the floor, and shards scattered about. Sheets that should cover the bed are now scattered on the floor and very wrinkled. Some stains need to find out who he doesn't remember. Even a table was split in half in the middle of the room.

Tristan has no idea how screwed he was during the heat phase without Mate. Supposedly, the heat cycle for a wolf without Mate will stop and only appear once they encounter Mate. Still, his body reacted unnaturally, and the heating phase that he had never experienced suddenly appeared and made him feel like a madman. Unfortunately, he didn't accept any omega to be his partner.

But how can Adelia Dauntless be in her room when she doesn't remember anything about him dating the daughter of Elrick Dauntless?

While thinking about all the possibilities that could have happened, suddenly his cell phone rang. Tristan, who didn't know where he had left his cell phone last time, had to rummage through it in his room and remove the pillows and mattress to see if it was under the bed.

Luckily, the call didn't stop and kept repeating until Tristan finally found his cell phone tucked under the nightstand, sandwiched between the wall.

Whether it was because it was pinched or hit, the cellphone screen was cracked in several places. Even though the casing of the cellphone was partially destroyed, Tristan was still lucky because the cellphone was still usable. And when he saw who was calling, it was his sister, Ananas.

[ "Why so long?" ] Ananas' voice squeaked in Tristan's ear.

"I don't know where I last put my phone," Tristan answered and then lay down on the bed, which was a mess after he rummaged through it.

[ "Oh, of course. You threw it when you kicked me and Gabriel out of your room." ] repeated Ananas and laughed because she knew that Tristan's cell phone might be broken now.

"stop it! Just tell me, when are you coming home? I want to go to the Dauntless home."

[ "What do you want? Get beaten up by Elrick Dauntless and then imprisoned by them, resulting in a war?" ]

"You think I'm that stupid to end up being held by them?!"

[ "How can I believe a man who destroyed an entire room, injured two maids, and tried to start a war with another Pack in just one night." ]

Tristan snorted. He knew that he had been acting erratically during the heat, but little did he know that he had also almost killed his maid. Tristan feels that the problem with the Dauntless family must be resolved right now, because if it takes longer, the Dauntless family will get even angry and even create a lousy narrative out there.

However, no matter how hard he tried, he still couldn't change the fact that he had almost started a war between the two Packs.

"Then what should I do now?"

[ "You just have to stay in the room until I find a way to take you out in public to apologize to the Dauntless family later." ]

"Later?"

[ "Yeah, I still have a few things to clean up here, so you can relax and trash the room again if you want." ] Ananas laughed at the end of the sentence. However, Tristan was sure his sister's laughter was just an annoyance. [ "I have to go, Gabriel is waiting for me; if you have any questions, you can ask Delaltrik, I'll see you at two in the evening, bye." ]

Ananas turned off their calls, and not long after that, Delaltrik returned with several servants who brought food for him.

Like the maids, Delaltrik was also surprised because Tristan's room was getting increasingly chaotic, even though he had only been out for a few minutes until there was no place to put the food he had brought.

Delaltrik looked at the watch in his hand, calculating the time he had missed to bring the food. "Just eighteen minutes, and you'll have us working hard."

"Um, I'm sorry, I was looking for this thing...." Tristan showed Delaltrik his cracked cell phone everywhere.

Delaltrik didn't respond to anything, he just kept quiet and watched Tristan, then sighed very hard before finally asking the waiter to bring a table that was still intact in the warehouse to replace the table that had been split into two in the room.
