Chapter One Hundred-Forty Four

Tristan looked at his hands and shook his head, “I don’t know. When I walked out of that mansion, he was not the same person I had fallen in love with, but forgetting Roth would not be easy. I have spent a good part of my life loving him.”

Oliver sat silently for a while before softly saying, “Then don’t,” He explained as Tristan looked up at him in confusion, “Don’t try to forget him. Just build new memories on top of the ones with him.”

Tristan’s gaze fell back onto his hands as he lightly nodded.

Oliver asked after a while, “You want to grab a coffee someday?”

Tristan met Oliver’s hopeful gaze again, sensing that Oliver must have been building that question for a while. He smiled broadly and nodded, “I would like that.”

He couldn’t tell if it was just him or Oliver had just heaved out a sigh of relief as his whole face lit up and he leaned forward to fill himself another glass of wine, or at least that’s what Tristan thought.
