Of course, when he sat before Tristan, holding Tristan’s arm, looking into Tristan’s eyes with those somber gray eyes of himself, and told Tristan he was sorry, Tristan was left with no choice but to forgive him.

“Thank you.” Roth smiled and got up, “I’ll leave you to rest then, I guess.” His cheeky voice was back as he winked at Tristan, and Tristan just threw his head back and laughed. Classic Roth, topping his mishaps with some cheek, but that seemed to always work for him. That was just Roth’s way, he was the kind of person that no one can remain angry with for a long time.

Before he dimed the lights on his way out, he turned to look at Tristan briefly, who had also been looking at him expectantly. Roth stopped for a second, and with his hand on the switch panel, he softly, almost inaudibly, said, “And I know you more than you think I do, Tristan.”
