Chapter 24- Catching up.Tequila did not know how much she missed her sister till her sister was there in Ikram. It was so nice to be able to talk to her again."Wait, Tequila. So you mean that Ali named Uthman after his cousin that was actually Uthman's father?" Dream asked after Tequila had told her everything that happened. She was trying to wrap her head around it."Well yes, basically," Dream said in agreement."And now someone is trying to kill you because they do not want you here?" Dream asked asked again and Tequila nodded her head."Correct," Tequila said. It was refreshing to be able to tell someone that understood how her life was before then what was going. It was such a shift from normal for her and Uthman and even Amir did not understand that. Tequila missed Ali, he would get her. She liked to think that she would not even be in the situation at all if Ali was alive."So all we need to do is to catch the person that wants to kill you and your baby and kick the person's
"Oh I am so going to enjoy my stay here. I already love the both of you," Dream said to Aisha and Aliyah who seemed to be basking in Dream's praises."Thank you Princess Dream," they both chorused. As far as Tequila knew, her sister was not royalty, the only royal Dream was related to, was Uthman. For the life of her she could not figure out why Dream insisted to be called Princess Dream. Both Aliyah and Aisha loved Dream on first sight, her sister tended to have that effect on people it was something that Tequila was proud of."Wow, Uthman and his ancestors were so hot," Dream said as they stopped at the Royal portraits of all the kings that had ruled Ikram. Tequila caught herself looking at Uthman's picture again, she could look at the man's pictures forever."It is such a shame that you have him all to yourself," Dream joked to Tequila and she rolled her eyes. It was clear to her that her sister was on Uthman's side and she only supported her since they were related by blood, nothi
"We still need to get dressed before we leave," Aliyah chipped in. Tequila turned to the maid and raised an eyebrow. It should be obvious that Tequila was not up to the idea of going out with Amir."Of course. I will have to freshen up too," Amir said. He was certainly on for the trip."Would you not want to finish your painting? We could always go to town another time," Tequila said, she had no intentions of letting Dream and Amir be together in a room though."I can always finish up later, the scenery is not going anywhere. And I would like to know more about your sister," Amir said with a knowing smirk on his lips. He was catching up to what was happening. He knew that she did not want him to be close to her sister and he was playing with her. Tequila tried to hold a glare with Amir but gave up and sighed."You know what, fine. We can go together, that is cool," Tequila said even if she sounded like it was not in any cool. She turned back and took her sister with her."Come on girl
Tequila looked outside the window of the car and she was in awe. She would admit that she expected a rural settlement. Maybe people in dirty clothes and dirty streets and tattered people. That was the idea that she had. The land of Ikram was a bit removed from civilization, at least that was what she thought. The place was beautiful, it was clean and it was serene. And yet it had a homey feeling to it. Tequila could smell bread baking, she could see women dressed like she was walking down the streets with their family. She could see children playing. "The place is so beautiful, it is not as elegant as the palace but it is very beautiful in it's own right," Dream said. Her face was glued to the other side of the window. It seemed that her sister had taken the words right out of her mouth."It is, Dream," Tequila agreed."We should stop at the marketplace, it will be the perfect place to tour and see Ikram," Amir suggested and Uthman clapped his hands. Tequila wondered if he had been t
Uthman did not know that he could feel fear that could be so gripping, fear that held on to him and did not let go. Uthman did not think that it was nearly normal to be so scared. He was only just getting used to being a father, he had not experienced everything that a father should and would. He had not even gone through the normal process of being a father. He just even found out that he was a father in the first place. And now Uthman, his own namesake was missing, and he could very well be hurt.Uthman's head spun with fear and anxiety, he tried to calm himself as he ordered some men to follow him to the market place. He did not know what to expect when Amir called him, but it was certainly not to tell him that his son was missing."Let's get into the car, we need to find my son," Uthman said as the men got ready to leave. He saw another car come in and with the way people rushed out of the car, he knew that Aliyah, who had been with Uthman was inside.Amir had told him that she wa
Tequila could not get the contents of the letter out of her head. After that day they all went back to the palace and she was back to her reserved self. She was the way she was when she was attacked in the palace. The only difference was that Dream was with her now and she was scared for both her life and the life of her son.Uthman jnr did not seem to see anything wrong at all, he just played around her room all day. Tequila was too scared to leave the room and so she moved Uthman jnr's things to her room as well. She only left her room to see Aliyah and Aisha. Aliyah was not seriously injured, but the bruises all over her body made Tequila feel so guilty. It was all her fault, it was her fault that Aliyah was lying in pains in that room."I am going to see Amir," Dream said as she stood up from the chair. Tequila only gave her a glance and nodded."Are you serious? You would just let me go? Just like that?" Dream asked and Tequila sighed. It was clearly not the reply she was looking
"You have to reconsider, Uthman. You know that my plan is very good. Maybe after everything, if we are both down with it, I can decide whether or not I want to marry you," Tequila said to Uthman. Uthman smiled at her. It was funny how she so easily changed her mind."You just said that you do not know how people will willingly want to marry me and now you want to marry me?" Uthman asked and Tequila's face tightened in a frown."That was your fault. I was angry you made me angry, and I do not like that I do not have a choice in any of this. I want to be able to say yes when you ask, not that you would force me," Tequila said. Uthman nodded again. He knew very well that if he gave her a choice, her answer would always be a no, and that was something that he did not want. He did not want to hear no."If I ask you to be my Queen right now, will you say yes?" Uthman asked her and Tequila let out a gasp of surprise. The question clearly took her unaware."I would ask that I want to think ab
"The royal ball is in two days!" Aisha shouted as she burst into the room. Delilah ran into the room with her, and she had a troubled look on her face, but that was not unusual, since everyone else seemed to be panicking about the royal ball and all."What! Why! How?" Aliyah shouted and tried to stand up from the bed. Tequila held her back, the last thing that she wanted was for Aliyah to get hurt because of her, again."I thought it would not hold this year because we are in mourning for Prince Ali, why is it holding again, and in two days?" Aliyah asked. She sounded very shocked. Tequila had thought that Uthman was a bit crazy for saying that he would hold the ball before, but their reactions now told her that he was even crazier than she initially thought."He changed his mind. He said he changed his mind, and it was as a simple as that. When the chief tried to complain, he said it was what minds do, that they change. I cannot believe this," Aisha said. She was walking around the r
