Chapter 162

Zara's POV

When Jasper walks into the living room with his mates, my heart practically stops.

“Oh, they’re beautiful!” Lavender swoons. “It feels like we’re already friends. We can be friends with them, right?”

“Yeah, Lavender. Jasper is our friend. His mates are our friends, too.” I try not to stare at the women next to Jasper.

Keller introduces his parents, but it scares the twins instead of making them happy. Phil tries to apologize for how he has treated them in the past, but it doesn’t seem to help. They’re too frightened.

“Go help them Zara. They’re scared.” Lavender urges me. “Introduce yourself.”

I step away from Estelle and stand in front of Katie and Kara. “What do I say?”

“Anything. Make them feel better.” Lavender paces in my mind. “Can’t you feel their fear?”

She’s right. The fear is rolling off of them in waves. I don’t know if Jasper can feel it, but he holds his mates tighter against him. What would I want if I were in their place? Somewhere to hide. I know just
