The earlier I start the faster I'm put to my grave
"Lay down back. You need all the rest you can get now and tomorrow we commence your training as planned."
I was surprised to hear her say this. I mean the King, her mate, just died a few hours ago which should leave her in a state of deep anguish and shouldn't even be able to think of anything but to mourn the loss of her mate, and despite that, here she is saying to me that we will commence our training right after what just happened.
Taking a look at her, I try to gauge if she's in the right state of mind. It is commonly known that when one loses their other half, they tend to snap and go crazy leading them to do all sorts of crazy things.
There have been several accounts of how the partners of the dead went on a rampage killing and destroying anyone or anything that cross their part and how the pack had no choice but to end their lives. Being a royal makes it worse.

I guess I just have to. The earlier I start the faster I'm put to my grave. I gave out one last sigh before I started by jogging the first few meters then gradually increasing my pace. Few rounds later and it was as though my legs would give way and I would collapse any minute soon. At one point I noticed that Alexa had joined the queen where she was standing under the shed of a tree, my eyes locked with her and I saw a glimmer of worry across her face as I averted my eyes away from hers and continued my rounds. This time around, the running came easy to me and felt energized the more I run instead of the other way round. Running this time around felt as though I was gliding instead. It was as if the air around me were the one doing most of the work. Finding it difficult to explain properly, as I run I felt the air around me gather and assisted me in easily running. As I said, I don't have a way to explain it. The more I ran the faster I became and before I knew it, I was running faster than human imagination. This left me bewildered. I understood that because of my abilities I have the privilege to do things more than what an average werewolf can do. This shouldn't be difficult to do since I've done it before on two different occasions. There must be something that is not adding up somewhere. There must be something that I'm not doing that I'm supposed to do. Puffing out some air from my mouth, I raise my head to the sky and noticed how beautiful it was. The stars were out, shining brightly giving out a sense of peaceful scenery. I gave a short sign and wish I had the privilege to do some sight gazing but knew I didn't. I look around me and saw that the Queen has left and Alexa was just ahead of me leaving as well. I jug to catch up to her, "Hey, Alexa wait up." She stopped on her track and waited for me to join her before she resumed walking. "I didn't see you guys leave." "Yeah. I tried getting your attention but you were deep in thought and mother said I should let you be and left. I stayed a little bit to stare at the sky with you before deciding also to leave."

I looked around once more to see if we were truly being followed and when I looked behind us, I saw some men dressed in black following us at a distance. I looked at their faces and could not associate them with the ones I know and their clothing left little information that I could use to identify them. I held Alexa's hand to get her attention, "Alexa don't look but we are being followed." Her eyes widen hearing this, "Are you sure? where?" She became frenzied as she looks around squeezing the hell out of my hand. I place my other hand on hers to try and reduce the tension of her hold on my hand, "Calm down and keep it down Alexa, don't let them know we already found out about them." I made sure we kept walking not to give ourselves away. Taking in deep breaths, "Okay...okay I'm calm. Tell me where they are." She whispered. HE walks towards us in hurried steps and grabs me in his hands. "What took you guys so long. I was getting worried." Alexa shook her head and gave a short laugh, "I never knew I will live up to the day that you, brother, will become worrisome. Rest assured nothing happened we only took the long route walking here and I'm sure your guards have informed you of this already when you asked them earlier." She walked forward and patted him on his arm then turned to where Rye was standing not too far from us with his hands folded behind his back whose attention was on Alexa. he was looking at her as though she was the center of his world. Like she was the only existing creature at the moment. His look was more like the way my mate looks at me. I looked at Alexa and saw that her expression was filled with admiration and forgot totally that my mate and I were there standing as she walks like a seductress to his front hugging him tightly.

Not able to take her silence much longer, "Lore, what's going on here? I asked you a question, a very simple question for that matter that is very easy for you to answer. I turned to look at them as I was about to exit the chamber I glanced their way to read the expressions they had the minute I turned my back and smiled at them. I could not read Lore's expression because her face was at that moment schooled into that of a poker one giving me no room to study it. While the other lady-in-waiting, whose name I finally remembered to be Brigitta, had a look of excitement and surprise on hers. I could not also get a definite study of her expression because she might as well be faking the ones on her face. But I'm not too worried, I will find a way to fish the perpetrator out without alerting them. I walk out of my chambers in mind of finding my hiding mate first before heading to the training ground.

We sprinted to the palace without stopping hoping what I was thinking wasn't what will happen. On getting to the gate the guards there were surprised to see all of us running and became alerted but that didn't stop us as we continued running to the Queen's chamber. I don't know the way there since I've not had the opportunity to visit her at her chambers but followed Alexa's lead as she took turns in the corridors till her chamber came into view. Her guards became alerted at first as they heard hurried footsteps before they saw us that it was us and stood at attention. Getting close to them, Alexa shouted, "Is mother inside?"
