(Flora's POV)

I ran away. Indeed, I had promised Leo that I would be his wife, but I was eventually scared to face reality. I was afraid that we would be inseparable once he knew I was his mate. I had sacrificed three years of my life for him and lost so much. I really can't afford to lose any more now. I hugged Iggy and went back to our rental house.

It turned out that George and Mable Bell were drinking and chatting on the lawn. Both of them waved happily to me when they saw me coming back.

As soon as we faced each other, Mable Bell said, "Flora, you know someone always waits until you come home, so I have to put myself out to feed mosquitoes every night."

I glanced at George. 'So, he was waiting for me every night after I left?'

George smiled and replied casually, "I was bored because I didn't get to see Iggy."
