Chapter 69

(Flora's POV)

After the showing was over, my mother would be buried in the cemetery. As we were leaving the church, it was raining for a while outside. Leo held an umbrella to keep me out of the rain. Even though I wanted to get mad at him, I no longer had the energy to reject his gesture. So, I let him do that.

Then, I walked in front of the funeral procession and followed the pastor to the place where my mother was about to be buried under 6 feet. After that, I watched my mother's coffin sink inch by inch into the ground. Flower crowns covered her coffin. Seeing this scene, my heart suddenly felt so empty. From today onwards, I no longer had my mother.

Realizing this made me want to burst into tears, but there were so many guests around that I ended up whimpering. Leo, who was behind me, patted my back lightly and handed me another handkerchief. I took the handkerchief and wiped my crying face. Although I still hated him, I was very grateful to have him right now for comforting me.
