Chapter 92

(Flora's POV)

However, even if the Green Jade Mountain really had some gifts left by the Gods for mankind, I didn't dare to think about it when I thought of Claude's death. I also didn't want to lose my life for some ethereal gift. I just wanted to be here, to have some peace and quiet, to get through this gloomy time after losing my mother and getting divorced.

On the first day, I took Iggy for a walk around the neighborhood. We hit the stream and cleaned up the room.

Iggy and I watched the sunset slowly fall on the other side of the mountain. In the evening, I locked the doors and windows, made dinner, and ate with Iggy by the fire. There was no internet, no gas or electricity, just a stream. Iggy and I seemed to be returning long before humans created so many things.

We were in the house late at night and could vaguely hear wolves howling. There were still wolves on this mountain. Thinking of this, I was actually a little scared.
