Chapter 28: Isabella Strikes Back

Isabella had a hunch about what Brian was up to, but he continued to gaze at her with affectionate eyes.

"Isabella, I have never forgotten about you all these years. The things I said when we reunited were all said in anger," Brian said.

Isabella couldn't help but chuckle. "Really? Then why did you betray me back then?"

Brian's gaze flickered, and he slowly spoke, "I was forced into it at the time. I have always had feelings for you, Isabella. Can we reconcile? I have many resources now, and if you're with me, I will treat you well. It won't be like before."

Isabella's lips twitched. She hadn't even had any alcohol during dinner, so how did this guy end up so intoxicated? She narrowed her eyes, a hint of coldness flashing through her gaze. She didn't need to think much to know what Brian was planning.

Seeing Isabella's silence, Brian approached her. "Isabella."

Julia muttered, "Why is Isabella taking
