Chapter Thirty-Six

I didn’t see Austin that night, I was worried until I heard him walking through the door in the early hours of the morning. I got ready for the day with Roman sat on the bed watching me, he was asking me questions about Jacob and the things I’ve had to do. I told him some parts while keeping others to myself, I knew Jacob would probably want to keep some parts between us for the time being.

Once I was ready, we both leave the bedroom and head towards the main part of the apartment, where sat in the living room was Austin. As we walk in, he turns to look at us, I send him a tiny smile before looking over at Roman. Him and Roman haven’t been in the same room as each other since he found out what has been happening, just from this morning he doesn’t seem to be too annoyed anymore. Roman and Austin soon make eye contact, but for the first time, Austin doesn’t seem to be the one starting a conversation.
