4. Introductions

Aaro’s pov

"Ready?" Eve asked.

I opened the door, and she gasped. "You look amazing, Aaro. Now we just need some shoes, and maybe you should do something with your hair. What if you wear it down?"

Down? What did she mean, not in a fucking bun or braid? Was she fucking nuts?

"Here let me," she said, before I could stop her. My hair was in a braid that I had rolled up into a bun, and she quickly got rid of the elastic that was holding everything in place. She ran her hands through my hair and looked at me again.

"Wow, at least my son has good taste."

Should I say thank you? He looked at me fucking once, and his father bought me. I doubted he actually liked me; he ignored me the whole fucking time, and most importantly, it didn’t fucking matter anyway. I wasn’t planning on staying.

She brought me some shoes that had heels, but Myrtle had let us practice walking in heels for when we were auctioned of. Apparently, fighting isn’t important for a future mate to learn, but walking in fucking heels is.

"Perfect. Let’s eat lunch."

She opened the door, and the soldier stepped to the side. I walked behind Eve, and he walked behind me; I could feel his eyes on my ass. Goddess, I hoped those strings were placed in the right area and you couldn’t see them through the dress.

Eve walked us to the dining room, looked in, and then turned back towards me. "Sorry, Aaro, I will be eating somewhere else. Good luck."

So she was leaving me alone with Storm and Alpha dickhead?

I walked inside, unsure of what to do. I didn’t even know where to fucking sit. At the head of the table sat Alpha Lex, and next to him was some woman who was dressed up as if she was going to a fucking gala.

Then there was an older male next to Alpha Lex and a woman; that was probably his mate. Next to them was a man eyeing me up and down, he looked around twenty. I think he was their son, because he resembled both. He had his mother's blond hair and blue eyes, and his father's square jawline. Storm sat on the other side of Alpha Lex and the woman. At the end of the table, there were three kids seated who were throwing food and acting up. A woman was trying to calm them down and get them to eat something quietly.

Storm turned around, and his eyes caught mine. He looked at me up and down and then moved a chair out next to him. Okay, I guess I’m sitting there.

I bowed my head toward all the guests before sitting down. Fuck, I hated this. One day I would make them bow to me—mark my fucking words.

"Everyone, meet Storm’s Luna." Alpha Lex said.

"So you finally found the right one?" the beta’s mate asked.

Storm didn’t get a chance to answer, "no, I bought her. I hope she’s worth it. I am testing her blood tomorrow to make sure." Alpha Lex said.

Yes, I said inside my head. I am their fucking future Luna, they bought at a school filled with abducted or orphaned kids who are sold off as slaves to become the future mates of those miserable fucks who can’t find their own mate.

"We have to fix her hair, though." The woman next to Alpha Lex said, "It’s not very Luna-like."

Storm growled, "You’re not touching her fucking hair."

Okay… Thanks, Storm, I thought.

"He's already so protective of his Luna," Alpha Lex chuckled. "Just like me." he said, holding hands with the woman next to him.

So that was the Luna.

When one of the kids at the far end of the table began talking loudly, Alpha Lex slammed his fist on the table and yelled, "Kids!"

The boy immediately shut up and bowed his head, "sorry, dad."

"She is pretty, in an unusual kind of way," the beta female said looking at me. "The blue eyes combined with her tan skin and curls are something you don’t see much of, especially here."

They were talking about me like I wasn’t even there, and it was killing me to hold my tongue.

"Aren’t you going to thank her?" Alpha Lex asked me.

"Thank you….?"I said, waiting for her name.

"This is Addison Montgomery, the mate of Beta Jackson Montgomery." Alpha Lex said.

"Thank you, Mrs. Montgomery." I said, briefly looking into her eyes, and then back down again.

"Maybe we should do a round of introductions?" Beta Jackson offered.

"I am Jackson, and this is our son James. The future beta of this pack." Beta Jackson said.

The Luna spoke, "I am Luna Ruby, and these are our children." She said pointing to the end of the table. "Bella, Jace, and Declan."

"And what is your name?" The Luna asked.

"My name is Aaro, Luna Ruby."

"We’re going to change that, though," Alpha Lex said.

"That’s a unique name; where did that name come from?" Addison asked.

"We all get a new name when we enter the school, Mrs. Montgomery." I said.

"Addison is fine, or Addie. So you got this name assigned to you?"

No, I begged for it because it was the only thing I had left from my fucking parents. But I wasn’t going to tell her that.

"Yes, Addison. I got this name when I was six."

"Do you remember your real name?" Beta Jackson asked.

I shook my head, "no, Beta Jackson. We were taught to forget our old lives."

Because the only thing that fucking matters is that we’re perfect little dolls for our future buyers to play with. The ideal fucking incubator for producing a fucking alpha heir.

"We should give her a new name, maybe Alison?" Luna Ruby said.

My eyes went wide. Did I look like a fucking Alison?

Storm shook his head, "we’re not changing her fucking name. Just leave her alone, damn it."

"So grumpy." Luna Ruby said, but it did work. Everyone left me alone after this, and I could finally eat something.

I thought I was off the hook, but just before lunch was over, someone asked another fucking question.

"So, Storm, what are your plans for today? Will you show Aaro around?" Luna Ruby asked.

Fuck. I just wanted to hang out in my room and think of a way out of here.

I saw that Storm wanted to decline, but before he could, his father spoke. "That’s smart, my beautiful Luna. Yes, Storm, you should take Aaro to the city."

Maybe this could be my chance to escape.

He turned to me, "I got something for you."

He held a bracelet in his hand and showed it to me. It was a pretty gold bracelet with blue gems.

"Thank you, Alpha Lex." I said.

"Come here, I’ll put it on." Alpha Lex replied.

I stood up and walked towards him, extending my hand. Instead of putting the bracelet on my arm, he grabbed it with one hand and quickly grabbed a device from the table with his other hand. He placed it on top of my wrist, and before I knew it, I felt a sharp pain and blood started pouring down my wrist. I bit my lip trying to stop myself from screaming out in surprise, while tears sprang in my eyes.

"What the fuck?" screamed Storm.

"What?!" Alpha-Lex replied as if it were nothing. "This way you will find her wherever she goes. It will only leave a small scar and if she wears the bracelet, no one will notice it."
